Yeah I've been having issues with Hulu
I saw The Eyes of Tammy Faye last week. I totally enjoyed it, basically it’s a one woman Jessica Chastain show and she delivers! Tammy Faye was another one of those figures that I was aware of at the time but I was too young to be interested in who she actually was, aside from the ridiculous makeup. It doesn’t dwell too deeply into the specifics of their scandal (as Tammy Faye wasn’t really involved) and it only mentions Jessica Hahn once. And I’m a big fan of overacting so Vincent D’Onofrio as Jerry Falwell was cartoony and creepy all in one 8.5/10
Probably getting hammered by everyone trying to watch the ty Sopranos movie.
Many Saints of Newark - 7/10. (You can catch it on HBO Max). I had some free gift cards to Harkin, so it was worth the recliner seat.
A film that was victim to the delay from the end of The Sopranos' run and the death of its protagonist, it was worth a gander. Ray Liotta was solid as Hollywood . It tried to show the backstory to the Moltisanti, but couldn't have been more telegraphed than a Jared Goff pass. It was a nice touch that they had James Galdofini's son play the younger version of Tony Soprano. Felt they left Johnny Soprano light on screen time as I think John Bernthal is a pretty good actor. I enjoyed it for the gratuitous violence but it was a few years too late to really garner any traction. Not bad, not groundbreaking. Michela de Rossi was eye candy as Giussepina.
Also, there's some weird going on between Amazon and HBO. Something about Amazon no longer letting you watch HBO through Prime.
I couldn't access HBO Max this weekend even though I was paid up. I had to create a new account and pay through Apple.
Felt like the movie was mostly member berries with weak character development of ie Moltisanti and then just straight trolling from David Chase with the Harold stoyline being shown so prominently just so Chase could say oops, not Harold... got'heem at the end.
I see what you mean. I think it also has a great deal with the trope of Mafiaese has been done so often and it's akin to beating a dead horse that the character development would be next to impossible at this point. The Harold arc was peculiar in it didn't entirely make sense, but you're spot-on that it did seem Chase was trolling with the ending. Though if I recall back to the series Tony had alluded that ie was off'd by someone involved with "this thing of ours" but perhaps I'm mistaken.
Finally got around to watching Minari. Was putting it off because it didn't seem like much of a story.
Turned out to be as good as advertised.
8/10
Bend over. I'll give you something thats good as advertised.
The new Bond movie. 3.5/10
First thirty minutes were solid and then it was awful. The chase scenes and Bond versus the whole army base scenes at the end were almost hopping on crocodile head laughably bad.
The original Candyman. Holds up well over time. Tony Todd is still my favorite slasher villain.
as a normal movie its a 6, but as a bond movie its a 2. Daniel Craig has not been Bond since Casino Royale.
As a normal movie it's 3.5. just bad. Waste of Rami Malek as a creepy bad guy.
Pretty sure his MO is waste of a creepy bad guy
they wasted both Malek and Waltz... pretty sad to up these kind of actors.
Dave Chappelle: The Closer
Another past his prime comedy special from Dave, but it’s definitely better than his last one. This one actually has a point and nails it pretty easily. Right off the bat it’s:
Joke at Asian people’s expense - *crickets*
Joke at Jewish people’s expense - *crickets*
Joke at Black people’s expense - *roaring laughter*
In front of a mostly white audience. Absolutely brilliant and he doen’t even mention it afterwards, he just lets it play out and moves on. The guy is still a genius, but he’s gotten to that “more worried about making a point and forgets to be funny” stage for the most part.
6.5/10
Felt like the whole time he was trying to figure out how to make fun of LGBTQ community without them getting mad any more
I'm sorry but Rami Malek is not a good actor. America is well past the point where we all should have realized and accepted this. He's a one-trick pony with a soft-spoken nervous bug-eyed act that only works in Mr. Robot because that's such a well-made show. He was laughably bad in Bohemian Rhapsody and in every other movie role he's been forgettable at best.
Movie was a 5 for me.
**SPOILER**
Spectre/Blofeld are much more interesting villains, so to kill them off and then hand over the "bad guy" role to Dr. No was a bad move. Also it was way too long and didn't need to end the way it ended.

I wouldn't watch any theme-character movies, ever. such as James Bond, marvel, DC, disney, star wars. Those just disinterest me. I'd rather watch genghis khan and bob ross having a threesome with satan
So gay threesomes interest you
Perhaps Satan is a woman.
Perhaps Bob Ross was too
I mean, he was a painter, an artist and all and acted like a got but he did have 3 wives and a kid
