Experts say Russia's economy is "imploding" as exports to the sanctioned country fall.
Exports from 20 countries to Russia were down -50% from the same time a year prior.
"We forecast a GDP collapse of -30% by end-2022," a chief economist at Ins ute of International Finance wrote.
Russia's economy is collapsing as exports to the sanctioned country plummet in the face of President Vladimir Putin's ongoing, unprovoked war in Ukraine, trade experts suggest.
The "economy is imploding. We forecast a GDP collapse of -30% by end-2022," said Robin Brooks, chief economist at the Ins ute of International Finance trade group, in a Sunday tweet.
Brooks added that according to data compiled with help from IIF researcher Jonathan Pingle, exports from 20 countries to Russia were down 50% in April compared to the same time a year prior.

And Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said that low-level discussion is underway on how the U.S. may need to adjust its training of Ukrainian forces and on whether some U.S. troops should be based in Ukraine.
The U.S. withdrew its few troops in Ukraine before the war and has no plans to send in combat forces. Milley's comments left open the possibility troops could return for embassy security or another non-combat role.
The U.S. embassy in Kyiv has partially reopened and is staffing up again, and there have been questions about whether the U.S. will send a Marine security force back in to help protect the embassy or if other options should be considered.
Asked if U.S. special operations forces may go into Ukraine, which officials have insisted they are not doing yet, Milley said that any reintroduction of U.S. forces into Ukraine would require a presidential decision. So we're a ways away from anything like that.

Last time Reuters showed Ukr civilians with guns and tails was less than a fortnight in...a fortnight later they quit showin' those civilians as Russia was taking them out into the street and shooting them...as? What they'd become...fair game..
West mainstream should not cry when these kids are dead on the streets. Happens to Palestinian kids every day.
