Seems that way based on how emotional the general manager was about it. If that is the case basically all of next season is gone for him.

Could mean he stays with GS. They'll have to offer him the max regardless. Their medical staff approved him to play. Think GS will take the the Spurs have taken?

they are only on the hook for the 31.5 million when he opts into his player option.

Kerr's and Warriors GM reactions says different. They seem guilty of doing something they knew was gonna happen but pushed him out anyway.

I'm not sure about paying him the max (it's ridiculous) but they owe him hazard pay for a fact.

If he didn't join a 73-win team, he would have never been in this position to ruin his career.. life's a trip..

I said in another thread, people gonna say “see, Kawhi was right to sit out last season. Look what happened to KD.”

    It’s coming.

Blessing in disguise for the Dubs, that Achilles may end up keeping the entire gang together for another year or two. Especially if they come back and win they’ll say it’s for him

No problem with him declaring himself out for the year. Instead he didn’t let the team declare him out for the year, then on the front office and demanded a trade to only LA. Also was a no show during the entire playoff chase and playoffs. No comparison.

That's useless if he doesn't play for 12 months.

Wow. If he tore his Achilles, this is freaking crazy. If they rushed him back, then I wonder what the repercussions would be? This could possibly ruin his career.

They are the new Heat. Anything short of a 3-peat and it will always be "but...."

They should all go their separate ways. They are all just hurting their own legacies at this point

With advancement in technology nowadays he could be back in 9-12 months. Stems cells can help as well especially the way they are being studied and used. He will be back it will probably be the end of next year though.

This ends up hurting the Knicks more than anyone considering he wouldn't be able to help them for the most part of next year if he went there. If he stays with the Warriors they would be able to survive until he comes back.
