So apparently she filed an appeal brief yesterday and the venue transfer pe ion today

If there was a real law firm willing to represent her they would have been able to walk and chew gum and work on both at the same time

That doesn’t make sense. He needs 218 votes to become speaker, you can’t become house speaker by winning a plurality vote.

Or I should clarify you need to win an outright majority of the vote, so you don’t need 218 if some house reps don’t vote at all, but there’s no way the GOP has 10+ members non vote and make it so Jeffries can become speaker with 213 votes.

Who becomes speaker though if no one gets 218 then? Because the congress, plus a couple new senators like Fetterman are getting sworn in to office literally tomorrow morning. There has to be a house speaker, minority leader, majority whip and minority whip.

House keeps voting until someone gets to 218 or an outright majority, that’s why I said tomorrow is gonna be interesting , the house reps are gonna potentially be voting over and over again for hours

It'd be hilarious but it is a possibility that the Freedom Caucus team will hide their intentions but vote for the top Democrat candidate to get him/her to 218, essentially giving the Dems the House and trifecta again. Just to spite McCarthy and the "old GOP".
