    It wasn't a wasted pick when it was made. In 2015, the league hadn't rigged the rules to outlaw fighting over screens so that every P'nR was a switch, rendering almost every big man obsolete.

    He'll probably never play in the NBA now, though.

    He couldn’t defend effectively in the FIBA tournament either where physical play and and he can’t do anything on offense but set picks and gorilla dunk. He’s no good for the NBA now and he was no good when the Spurs drafted him. Only redeeming fact is almost everyone drafted after him was crap too.

    USA and Argentina have clinched the two Olympic berths for the Americas. Mission accomplished, for a group that just met a few weeks ago, and some people were saying wouldn't even qualify. Anything more is gravy.

    I wonder if Team USA will consider bringing in an older, bruising big man or two for the Olympics? Seems like it could be an improvement under FIBA rules, instead of the young gazelles that are the formula for The New NBA.
