Many of the homicides in that article were not gun related. The first one talked about was strangulation. Another one was a crowbar.

I admittedly didn't read the entire article, but how many spouses or partners are killed by gunshot? Seems like beating, strangulation, knifing, even poisoning would be more common amongst lovers than a gunshot. That's of course based on my extensive Forensic Files research.
