Manu is going to retire as the mpst popular spur ever and if you ask every mexican the answer is always manu. They say it's the cultural comnection.

And then I told them about how Argentinians hate people of colour...

58th pick. Outplayed Tony in 2003 and 2005 finals. Was epic in game 5 of 2014 finals. Hit some clutch shots. Ball was in his hands in the clutch. Was Underpaid throughout, and probably the second best sg in his prime, only behind Kobe. We t to the bench without a moan. Publicly is honest and open on his thought process. Defeated USA in the Olympics which is a great for the game. And didn't have issues with Brent Barry.

Tony is French. Arrogance is there. I like Tony and he doesn't deserve the hate. Manu seems humble.

All Star comparison is ridiculous. Manu came off the bench for his entire career. How often do you see bench players playing in All Star games?

Still a huge fan of Tony though. Most underrated Spur ever, and a huge part of our 2007 and 2014 les (and should've been 2013*.. )

Manu would've been on more all-star games had Pop not sent him to the bench and most analysts who know the game recognize that.

Tony is easilybthe most underappreciated spur ever, but he was kinda stat padding in 2013 and 2014..Was hilarious watching tony stat pad in game 5 of 2014 finals going for that FMVP

Parker the best Spur for many years. Manu, a glorified role player.

His stat padding once the game was a blowout was infuriating, especially since he was scoreless in the first three quarters tbh.

Manu has that perfect salad tossing nose and huge penis. On the other hand, Tony gives great head:

I'm going to go with they both leave my balls empty?

    Tenacity

Willingness to sacrifice stats and come off of the bench

    Humility

    Approachable

While I like TP, and I think they both are deserving of accolades, Manu is the easier of the two for many people to root for (he fit the underdog role coming off of the bench).

Manu's 2005 playoff performance was brilliant, and one could argue that he and Timmy should have shared the Finals MVP award. Some people will only remember the foul on Dirk in "06 or the 2013 Finals, but without Manu there is no way the Spurs would have had the same amount of success as a franchise.

Does the preference for Manu play into cultural connections for some? Most certainly, but I do not think it does so in an unhealthy biased nature. Manu's spoken language bridges the gap to many in the wonderful Spanish speaking communities in the greater San Antonio area. On the other hand, I think some fans remember Tony with Eva, and in comparison to Manu, there is a big gap present.

I am not a Spanish speaker (I understand a bit here and there), but nevertheless, I am a huge Manu fan. I am also a big TP fan, and frankly, I get tired of the sop ric "porker" comments that are so pervasive on this forum.

Ice, D'rob, Timmy, TP and Manu, and Bruce will always be considered the greatest Spurs of all time to me personally, with Kawhi continuing to build his impressive resume to join that list.
