Not sure what finally got the FISA warrant after first being denied as none of us are privy to the specifics.

- Conservatives hires fusion gps to conduct oppo research first.
- Steele dossier was NOT worked on at this point
- conservatives stopped funding
- dnc then hired the same firm, fusion gps, to conduct oppo research
- it is during this point that the steee dossier was produced
So yes, conservatives did fund the same firm that ended up producing the dossier. But the dossier was not part of their work while being funded by conservatives.
that said, it appears the feds didn’t start investigating Russia because of the dossier, as tsa/darrin had claimed, as the investigation started earlier

I wouldn't doubt that. Australia's High Commissioner to the UK is hard to on as a source.
I get exactly what you are saying. In the end, like you said the FBI had plenty of other things that led to the start of their investigation.
