That was some Phil Jackson type of ref-trolling, tbh. Good stuff, Pop.
The way Kawhi has been "allowed" to guard in the playoffs (the last two series most noticeably) has been troubling. All anyone can hope for is CONSISTENCY, something the announcers mentioned during the game. The officials have been far from consistent. A touch foul here vs hacks (they missed an obvious one on Kawhi fouling lebron and who knows how many on the bigs in the paint) and the players don't know what they can do on defense.
Perfect way to put it without the chance of being fined. Never criticized the refs.
Never thought I would have to look at Pop as a crybaby but this is seriously re ed. Kawhi has played two AWFUL games entirely of his own volition. He literally tackled Anderson for no reason at all to get his (5th?!) foul in the game. Seriously dumb.
I expect it from fans and even players (Paul George lol) but not from coaches. And seriously, your organization was just responsible for one of the most embarrassing Finals issues in a long time a game ago. They need to come off of it.
I swear to God that Leonard isn't doing anything to James, that James isn't doing to the Spurs, yet the refs won't call James for anything.
Yeah....because that's the foul call on Leonard that pop was talking about.
The difference is that he is LEBRON JAMES! Leonard is the other guy.

Pop is hinting at the fact that Green and Leonard have been in foul trouble through the majority of the last eight quarters played. It's ruined our gameplan to defend adequately on the perimeter (as well as individual defense on Lebron). It's like a shot in the gut seeing Belinelli get playing time...watching him attempt to play defense is like allowing a Tarantula to stick those fangs on your flesh, tbh.
Lebron nearly raked Parker's fingers off on that one late drive where the possession was challenged. Less of a foul than Leonard's block of James' earlier drive.
Manu and Leonard were both rendered ineffective through important stretches of the game the other night. I hope the refs let the teams' best players match up at least.
Ok so that's one legit foul on Leonard. He got two early fouls because he dared look at his majesty Lebron in a way that the refs found distasteful. And he got an offensive foul because a Miami player hacked at his arms.
Sounds legit.
Way to go Pop.
We'll see if it makes any difference though. I figured Leonard might as well be glued to the bench.
