    Kind of indifferent to this final, I'm not an Atletico, Real or Barça fan. Atletico fans are probably devastated right now, but that's how dramatic football can be.

    Simeone made 3 major blunders:
    - starting Costa and wasting an early sub
    - replacing Filipe Luis with Alderweireld, virtually neglecting the left flank of any danger to Real. When extra time arrived, they had very few chances to hurt Real.
    - letting his team defend so deep since the 70th minute. Real was uninspired in attack for most of regulation, but when you defend so close to your goal, the other team will push with crosses, free kicks and corners. In that situation, every player must have absolute focus for the entire game, one small lapse and the entire thing falls apart like a house of cards.

    Hopefully Di Maria carries this form into Brazil and Sosa gets injured.
