That should be a huge red flag for anyone trying to put "the" bible forward as truth. The opinion about "what God thinks/wants" has done nothing but splinter over time. That isn't a symptom of an all-powerful deity's infallible Word, rather it is a symptom of a human belief system.
I totally concur with your opinion. I've said as much many times on here but others can't resist labeling me everything under the sun.
It is amusing and makes me wonder about and question some of the posters on here reading comprehension.
Overall I have liked it & think they have good intentions but they always miss the mark…Recently History Channel did a series on Sampson who they portrayed as a huge powerful man…Nothing could be further from the truth…Sampson was a mamma’s boy who was a bit slimy when it came to women…The whole point of the story & Gods humor is lost in History Channels portrayal…Sampson “a weakling” was given supernatural strength by God in order to combat his enemies using the jawbone of a donkey and performed heroic feats…

I tend to take it with a grain of salt however.
My true feeling is that it was a story to illustrate some important lessons they wanted the people to learn at the time, similar to King Arthur and his round table knights.

Went to church with my mother on Friday. Rosary, Stations of the Cross, Mass. It was great seeing all the children in CCD participating and learning their faith. God bless the children.
