Ok people, spill the beans.
This used to be on TNT every Halloween...it's hilarious now, but I still subconsciously close the drapes every night. I want no part of that Danny Glick
Saw this on HBO when I was 5 or 6...horrible film, but it was the first time I ever thought about the possibility of my parents dying...always stayed with me.
I would add Jacob's Ladder, but it wasn't cheesy--just way too disturbing for a 7 yr old. I don't think I could stomach that movie today.

Left Behind. Raised by religious parents, this freaked me out. Made me think of the xtians as assholes and their god as a prick.
Once when my mom was out of town, my dad tried to entertain me and my brother with his favorite movies. The very first one was the original "Planet of the Apes". I got so scared I didn't sleep all weekend and neither did he. And then he REALLY got in trouble when my mom returned![]()
not muh spandex superheroes![]()
good drop, tbh. the scene where the chick gets younger then goes blind was good too
I'm not really an arachnaphobe either, but that was too many![]()
Poltergeist
Couple of other scenes/performances/films:
-Island of Terror - 60's horror film with Peter Cushing
-Yul Brynner's character in Westworld
-The Medusa scene in Clash of the ans (1981)
The "Cheesy" qualifier threw me off. Had to go back into the stacks. Finally found it. '68..."Wild In The Streets." Not the plot, because that is the epitome of cheesy, but, the application of the plot's intent. There is a sense in this film. Due in most part because the production paid for a cast of genuine stalwarts (Ed Begley) especially, S ey Winters as well, a younger Hal Holbrook and a hot ass Diane Varsi. Richard Pryor is here as well. The camera is set at angles, reminds a bit of the angles used in the same era's cheesy/comedic "Batman." And there is a lingering comedy here, but, it's fleeting and frustrating as it never sets, but, sets you up. eyed the camera causes angst as the roundup of "parents" is executed. There is a scene where LSD in liquid form is introduced into the country's water supply. Another where the refuge parents are discovered and dealt with.
& one wouldn't think so, but, it's aged well. It works, still.
Christopher Jones, on tippy top as the '60's crept-year-by-year is the main character. Everything in front of him. A summer later his girl would be carved up in Los Angeles and left where Manson's people found her. It broke him.
The Blob (the '50s version with a young Steve McQueen) and Son of the Blob (the '70s version directed by Larry Hagman.) Saw those on "Superhost" on Channel 43 back in the day.
Happened to me too but with Robocop. That scene where they execute the cop got me as a kid. I tried to be slick and tell my dad I had to go take a so I wouldn't have to see that part but he paused the movie so I wouldn't miss it.![]()
ing 'Spiders' tbh. Most people blame their fear of spiders on Arachnophobia, I blame it on that.
The end of Raiders of the Lost Ark blew my ing mind.
Also, Poltergeist.
If you were a kiddo in the 80s then Poltergeist made your list. I had a big tree right outside my window. I was afraid of that ing thing when storms blew through for a very long time. Probably a year or better.
The one with the hole to in the backyard scared the out of me too.
, i had a clown in my room. i didn't last long after that though
John Carpenter's Prince of Darkness scared the out of me when I was a kidAlso Critters made me scared to go outside because we lived in the country and I thought they were everywhere!
