Hard to believe 4.31 is the worst. But I guess bad pitchers only get so many innings in the postseason.

"among these veteran hurlers". Then author proceeds to pick only 3 other pitchers. Pretty cherry picked. Certainly there have been worse.
Last night meh Kershaw was not that bad.
Lead off batter in 6th advances on an error. Affects how he pitches next batter. He leaves with score 3-1.

The reliever comes in and throws a gas can on the fire. 1 out 3 hits. All charged to Kershaw.
Re manager knows the stat you posted so to me if Kershaw gets me 5 with only 1 run allowed i am hooking him real soon in the 5th. Like one, maybe two batters tops.
Also the Cheatstros postseason stats should not be used against Kershaw. Nor any other pitcher.

Rays about to choke Yankees style, aren't they?
There is so many games you can win by 1 run.

It is 2020 though so yeah who the knows.

Damn, Altuve literally can't do anything right atm.
He keeps trying to steal bases and getting cut down. He just did it again.

Why? Did he build the team? Because they were frankly underachievers.
Yup. He was the GM from 1986-1991 and built up the talent pool. The biggest reason why they underachieved was not finding a dominant closer. And that’s on John Schuerholz who was the GM after Cox became the manager. Wohlers could have been that closer but he mentally lost it after blowing game 4 in the 96 WS against the Yanks.

Well, it sounds like you really like Cox.

    Umm, wtf?

I'd understand if they were talking about the regular season, because they've got winning those games down to a science. But how can you lack motivation in the postseason when you're constantly falling short of expectations?

Its prolly gotten to the point they expect the choke and just don't care anymore. Regardless, they need to blow it up. Only Betts and Bellinger should be untouchable.

Astros getting to the finals would be epic with their cobbled together pitching staff.
Lots of room on the Astros bandwagon!

Seager would be the untouchable one. Bellinger's swing has too many holes and he has a very feast/famine approach. Seager's a lot more controlled at the plate (chokes up) and can generate power without trying to slice reality open like the big swings of Bellinger, Taylor, and such.

That said, I don't think the Dodgers' issue is roster related. It's organizational. They've had consistent success making deep runs but always flame out against whatever elite team they face in the LCS/WS. This leads me to believe the Dodgers don't scout and gameplan as well as other clubs. It's like the other team knows what's coming, can consistently lay off out pitches, work deep counts, slap hits, while the Dodgers just flail away trying to put another crater in the moon. An example is Kershaw. Yes, he's "choked," but he's also had some pretty damn good pitches crushed, like the hitters were a step ahead. And this was happening well before the sign stealing scandals.

The Dodgers don't seem to be as a good at the metagame as their opponents. If the homerun isn't working, they're lost.

Was relegated tonight to listening on radio

I expected Dodgers to win today. Bummer LAD didn't play all that great and our bullpen was roughed a little

I wouldn't be surprised if this goes 7 but it would surprise me if Dodgers managed to win over Fried and Anderson

We are still in the exact position we strategist for.

I think it ends today for us. Fried will have them hacking and flailing for dingers.

Buehler is kind of playing with fire. Straight up challenging these guys to hit a fastball straight up the middle most of the time.

Dodger fans are such insufferable sticks.

Red Sox are in nowhere land but they want to talk about them like they're relevant.

Ah, Red Sox remain the only team to complete the greatest comeback in Baseball history.
