If you go to Japan you just need to know these three phrases to start with

    1. うんこ漏れそうです、助けてください・・・ (unko more soudesu, tasukete kudasai...)
I'm looking for the train but... (please tell me where it is is implied by the ...)

    2. おい、メタボの野郎 (oi metabo no yarou)
What's up (more literally 'hey friend')

    3. おならしやがったんだ、ボケ?(onara shiyagattanda, boke?)
    Are you hungry too?

I really wish I still worked for a company with offices in every industrialized country. I'd be hitting them up for a transfer right now

Fortunately being a Joooooooooooooo gives me a path to citizenship in Portugal if it comes to that. Not my first choice but better than an America with Trump in a 2nd term.

Dr. Robert Redfield was appointed director of the US Center for Disease Control and Prevention in 2018.Redfield’s previous work during the AIDS epidemic in the US during the 80s and 90s is controversial. He worked with W. Shepherd Smith, Jr. and his Christian organization, Americans for a Sound AIDS/HIV Policy (ASAP), who has expressed beliefs that AIDS was “God’s judgement” against sexuals.Redfield also wrote the introduction to the book "Christians in the Age of AIDS," co-written by Smith, where he denounced the distribution of sterile needles for safe injections and condoms to sexually active adults.More notably, Redfield along with ASAP backed H.R. 2788, a House bill in the early 1990s that would’ve subjected people with HIV to testing and would’ve effectively quarantined them. He also supported “ABCs of AIDS” in Africa, which strove to prevent HIV spread through encouraging monogamy and abstinence, with safe sex only as the last resort.

President Trump has also recruited Jenna Ellis to work as one of his campaign advisors. Ellis is a right-wing news pundit and former cons utional law attorney who has expressed extreme anti-LGBTQ+ beliefs, according to Pink News.

The President was impressed with her television appearances, during many of which she expressed phobic beliefs. Those beliefs include that gay and sexual men have higher rates of HIV because “we cannot escape God’s moral law and His supremacy.”Ellis has spoken out about the legalization of gay marriage as well, lamenting that the Supreme Court decision “told the LGBT community that their sexual lifestyle was not just legal privately, but morally validated openly through government recognition and social celebration and therefore equally as valued as heterosexual unions.”Ellis also attacked former Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg, who is openly gay, writing in a Facebook post: “If Pete Buttigieg is going to invoke the name of his Creator, he should read for himself what his Creator says about sexuality in the Bible. Truth doesn’t change, regardless of the culture or the Dems’ iden y politics.”

    Propagation

Spreading occurs by drip infection (only for patients who cough or sneeze) and aerosols in closed, unventilated rooms. Contamination is therefore not possible in the open air. Contact tracing and epidemiological studies show that healthy people (or positively tested asymptomatic carriers) are virtually unable to transmit the virus. Healthy people therefore do not put each other at risk. 24 25
Transfer via objects (e.g. money, shopping or shopping trolleys) has not been scientifically proven.26 27 28

All this seriously calls into question the whole policy of social distancing and compulsory mouth masks for healthy people – there is no scientific basis for this.

    Masks

Oral masks belong in contexts where contacts with proven at-risk groups or people with upper respiratory complaints take place, and in a medical context/hospital-retirement home setting. They reduce the risk of droplet infection by sneezing or coughing. Oral masks in healthy individuals are ineffective against the spread of viral infections. 29 30 31

Wearing a mask is not without side effects. 32 33 Oxygen deficiency (headache, nausea, fatigue, loss of concentration) occurs fairly quickly, an effect similar to al ude sickness. Every day we now see patients complaining of headaches, sinus problems, respiratory problems and hyperventilation due to wearing masks. In addition, the ac ulated CO2 leads to a toxic acidification of the organism which affects our immunity. Some experts even warn of an increased transmission of the virus in case of inappropriate use of the mask.34

Our Labour Code (Codex 6) refers to a CO2 content (ventilation in workplaces) of 900 ppm, maximum 1200 ppm in special cir stances. After wearing a mask for one minute, this toxic limit is considerably exceeded to values that are three to four times higher than these maximum values. Anyone who wears a mask is therefore in an extreme poorly ventilated room. 35

Inappropriate use of masks without a comprehensive medical cardio-pulmonary test file is therefore not recommended by recognised safety specialists for workers.
Hospitals have a sterile environment in their operating rooms where staff wear masks and there is precise regulation of humidity / temperature with appropriately monitored oxygen flow to compensate for this, thus meeting strict safety standards. 36

    Foldren:

people who need supplemental oxygen need to be careful with masks...

    no ?

They need to be careful anytime they are away from their O2 supply.

Dont wear a plastic bag as a mask...
Unbelievable insight, who would have known?

How hard is it to live there if you don’t speak the language? Can you get by with just English while you learn the language?

Why not, debt means nothing. But really the stock market has shown we are all fine.
Maybe a wall with Canada as well attached to the stimulus . We pretend like they pay for it. Make believe is a game we play now. The debt can probably disappear just like a virus.

According to the State Department, Portugese is a Category 1 langauge, eg easiest to learn for a native English speaker (600-750 hours).

    https://www.state.gov/foreign-language-training/

Ugh the one I'm studying (Japanese) is in the super hard category (2200 hours), along with Mandarin, Cantonese, Arabic, and Korean. The writing system is such a bas making it much harder to read than Chinese despite using (roughly) the same characters. Though it's much easier to hear and pronounce than any Chinese dialect at least.
