I wouldn't hate McDermott even though he's a net-negative player for his career. But he can't be the headliner when you have $50 million.
At least no Patty Mills re-signing yet

We could sign Hitler and you think it would be a great move by PATFO. off old man.
The addition of McDermott would be nice as long as it’s not the biggest move that the Spurs make
Teams have to be rushing to get derozan signed being the allstar that he is

They're just waiting until after the Olympics to announce it tbh.
I thought Mcdermott was already signed from the reaction of people here
Wieskamp is a younger Mcbuckets but more athletic.

Free agent guard Cameron Payne has agreed to re-sign with the Phoenix Suns on a three-year, $19 million deal, league sources tell @YahooSports.
Yeah, I see no reason for McDermott when the Spurs have a younger, cheaper version that they just drafted. Smells like something his agent put out there to drum up interest.
Right, because when Patty gets those big contracts, he tends to play poorly and Spurs want him at his best for Australia the next time they play the US.
Can we S&T Derozan for Collins tbh? I'm starting to get worried that basket case is going to be back on the roster next season
Pop and Patty are both in Tokyo. What are you betting they're not in a restaurant somewhere, doing sake shots...
If he signs here, he better not read Spurstalk.

As @JeffSchultzATL noted, sources say the Hawks and Trae Young are expected to finalize a max extension tonight. Deal will be for five years, $170 million, with a supermax trigger that could push it to $201.5 million. Hawks meeting with Trae in LA tonight theathletic.com/live-blogs/202…
Every minute that passes I get a sinking feeling
so does that leave the Mavs as the only team left that can sign DeRozan with cap space except the Spurs?
Interesting how patty hasn't signed yet. If he was going back to San Antonio it would have happened already. They have all the money to spend so it's not like he's letting the team sign who they need to sign first, or anything.
Dallas no longer have the money after paying Hardaway. I think.
Mavs don't have cap space.
DePression really is coming back, isn't he?
Partly, but they’re working other angles and can still do his deal last. Or they’re sitting around twiddling their thumbs looking at video of a 6’3” “forward” from overseas that they get fixated on for the next 11 months and draft in the lottery next year.
