Only reason this is funny is because there were only 3 people. If only 3 people had a Gay pride parade, that would be funny too. When Gay has their protest, CNN makes the supreme effort, talks about the right of free speech, speaks solid tones of grandeur about Gay, twixt the lines denigrating Straight all along the line, so that Straight won't dare protest for Straight. When Straight, after decades of Gay protest has their protest, free speech is muddied, CNN does the muddying carefully, it's CNN's killing ground, their sweet spot, they know precisely how to set the bear lose in the buckwheat. There's a difference between coming out of a closet and bragging about an aspect that never forced you to be in one. If Gays were the majority then you'd be correct, but since they are a very small minority, and I think we can agree that they probably didn't choose their orientation completely free of natural development, then allowing them the space to recover a modi of dignity without feeling like they are a disease to humanity isn't above and beyond the call of duty.
Granted, some do get carried away a bit. But it's not the same as marching around bragging that you're in the large majority of people who never had to deal with it.
