Me either, and Samanic has a negative wing span too.
DWhite has one of the fattest heads known to mankind and that is my fav player on the team currently tbh.
Me either, and Samanic has a negative wing span too.
Serious tbh, if they draft some honky like Herro or Ty Jerome, I'll stop posting on the board and turn in my Spurs fandom card.
I forgot I had posted that before. Distractions around me, my bad. Samanic is one of those guys they say is "sneaky athletic" which is a sugar-coated code word for unathletic, tbh. NBAdraft.net questions his motor and that his athleticism isn't all that for the NBA level.
Silver linings to every cloud...
Wow they have Deandre Hunter at 15th.
I had to look up Ty Jerome up. The dude's name is Ty Jeremy Jerome... I already hate him.
Old ABA style logo on the new draft caps. Me likey tbh.
Bertans has value tbh. Elite shooter on a cheap contract that shouldn't be too expensive to retain. He the bed in the playoffs but that's to be expected since Pop went to his guys at the first sign of trouble...
If I'm a team in the 11-16 range and not in love with anybody, that's a deal I easily do and get some additional value. Probably could even get the Spurs to throw in 49.
in what world does Bertans move us up to a late lottery-mid first pick?
That's a pretty detailed rumor for Don Harris standards, tbh. Hmm...
I'm not buying that...
Bertans is the red-headed step child on draft night. What was once a throw-in back for Nephew back in the day, hopefully the Spurs can flip him for something in value.
The same world where ST thinks we can move 29 and 19 and get to 8.
Seriously, the last lottery pick is 14. That's only a jump of 5.
Not buying what? That Bertans has value? He's an elite shooter with good size and ability to not get eaten alive on the perimeter....
Just because Pop didn't know how to fully maximize his strengths while doing a poor job in hiding his weaknesses doesn't mean he can't be a really good bench player for a winning team.
You really don't think that Bertans and 19 can move them up to 14-16?
Naw, I do. Just pointing out absurd stuff that goes down here.
We better be getting another Kawhi if that's the case.
I feel like the Spurs should draft players that have high defensive ceilings. Any weak link in your defense gets exposed in the playoffs, which makes some players unplayable no matter how good their offense is (e.g. Beli, Mills, Forbes, Bertans). Of course, offensive ability matters too, but I'd want to avoid drafting someone based on their offensive potential (e.g. Cameron Johnson, Tyler Herro, Bol Bol, Dylan Windler) unless the Spurs really think that their defensive liabilities can be fixed.
So having said that, here are some of my draft targets:
Players that I'd be willing to trade up for
Brandon Clarke
Sekou Doumbouya
Players I would take at 19 (in order of preference)
Jaxson Hayes
Goga Bitadze
Nic Claxton
Chuma Okeke
Matisse Thybulle
Nassir Little
Mfiondu Kabengele
Players I'd take at 29 (ranked below any of the above who might slip)
Bruno Fernando
Jontay Porter
Isaiah Roby
Darius Bazley
Luka Samanic
You make fair points and maybe I'm wrong because of years prior but I do agree he has value. I just think moving into the late lottery for example is kind of a reach for his production. I would love to be wrong. I'm just not getting my hopes up at all on that one. I could see him in play for the 29th to move up to 20-24... I mean I think they are attaching him to the 19th to see if anyone bites and at the same time building value for the other pick. imho
Bertans, Belinelli and 19 for 13 and Olynyk?
Bertans and 19 for 14, Baynes and Yabusele?
Bertans and 19 for 15 and Galloway?
Bertans, Belinelli and 19 for 16 and Mozgov?
Brandon Clarke's wingspan is the same as his height. Samanic's is 1/2" different.
Give me that Heat trade tbh. Give them Bryn instead of Marco if that's what they want.
