Memphis will likely be out for blood after that OT loss to Portland.

On the other hand, maybe Memphis would rather face the Spurs than the Blazers (but alas that's probably over-analyzing it -- they may simply fear falling out of the 8 spot).
They should be out for blood. Their schedule is tough and the OT loss was a hard fought battle. I bet they are hungry and will fight for this game. Jaren Jackson is key for them and he tends to get in foul trouble. It’s a very winnable game for the Spurs but the same can be said for the Grizzlies. Should be interesting either way.

Me too but not bc this team won’t compete (unlike the past). I just think the Grizzlies will be hungry to get this game IMO.

Portland beating Memphis helped the Spurs' chances of getting all the way to #8 but hurt their chances of finishing #9.

The Spurs beating Memphis would really muck things up, and that's good for Spurs fans. Go get it Spurs.

As Yogi Berra said, "It's getting late early."

It looks like it's coming down to Spurs vs. Portland for the right to face Memphis.

Hmmm... could Isaias' cause a delay or postponement of the games on Sunday? It's predicted that it will gain strength and become a cat one hurricane and brush Florida's eastern coastline. I'm sure that an extra day off would be welcomed, but I'm sure that on the other hand, the makeup could come back to bite them, but hoping that the affect won't be serious enough to cancel the games. In the meantime, GSG and let's get the double-U!!!

Spurs-Memphis tomorrow afternoon at the same time as Portland-Boston.

Those two games may end up pivotal in this whole thing when we look back on it.

H2H with 8 seed three games up on them and a team in between them too. I'd say this is a must win game.

the storm doesn't look serious for the Orlando, a few inches rain, winds, but not hurricane level destruction

Only the 9th seed makes the play-in. All seeding is determined by winning % (since not every team will have played the same amount of games total after the 8 restart games). If Grizz would have beat the Blazers yesterday we would already be the 9th seed.
This is going to be the challenge.

Getting within 4 games of Memphis is completely reasonable.

But we also have to win the race ahead of Portland, Sacramento, and New Orleans.

Fortunately we've already beat Sacramento once, New Orleans has lost twice, and Memphis lost (albeit to Portland). It's early, but things have started off well for the Spurs.

Portland plays Boston today, so a loss there would really make things interesting.

Yup. Wouldn't that put us in 9th and only 2 games back of the 8th seed?

Spurs need to worry about themselves and take care of business. Spurs must win tonight.

Do not worry about Portland - they have a VERY challenging schedule. Spurs need to worry about themselves and the rest will play out accordingly.

BTW the Pelicans are done. They lost their first two games and Zion is on a minutes restriction. It's clear they are looking forward to next year.

Tough outings for Murray to start out the season tbh. Gets destroyed by Fox. About to get destroyed by Morant. And then will follow it up by getting destroyed by Simmons.
Simmons didn’t play as PG in the previous game
