lol I'm the one who has been saying it's an endemic HCoV and everyone will get infected, I know it's not going away. So we can use simple math to forecast how many people will die. My optimistic death forecast is .3% ifr and herd immunity at 70% (so 282k deaths to go, using CDC numbers). IFR is higher than .3% and herd immunity isn't 70% but I'm being optimistic.

Except there are vaccines now so countries like South Korea, New Zealand, Taiwan, Australia that took the pandemic seriously and didn't get huge early deaths may escape this relatively unscathed. Guess it did make sense after all to not surrender at the beginning of the fight like Trump did.
