so you think Sarkissian was referring to conference championship talent?
because we are not even close to a division one championship
Players only meeting called today per IT. No word on who called/initiated it. I'm hoping Casey Thompson...

I don't think it's as far off as you think. depth is lacking sure, but having highly talented players is not an issue at all. trash coaching and a highly overrated QB was more of the issue imo
Per IT, the only offensive coach to be retained is RB Coach Stan Drayton.
Any updates on the defensive side of the ball?
Muschamp probably out, headed for UGA I believe. Been hearing names like Bo Davis again for dline, along with Tosh Lupoi, not sure what that means for Giles or Hagan.
Barry Odom’s name has been rumored today on several sites. He wouldn’t be a bad option at DC. He’s the DC at Arkansas this year.
Gerry Hamilton today said coach Sark reached out RB LJ Johnson. I still think Texas has really good chance of getting his commitment now that Drayton is staying.
Looks like the sooners are trying to poach Juco grad transfer and Texas signee CB Darion Dunn. OrangeBloods first to report it earlier. There's some thought that he wasn't 100% on board before Herman was let go from an enrollment standpoint.

IT saying Roschon, Casey and Josh Thompson called the meeting to get everybody on the same page and make sure they stay in shape. Point of emphasis on hip mobility.
It was Casey and a few others. It went very well and everyone is excited for the new coach and are ready to move forward. (OrangeBloods)
He's walking away with a $15 million paycheck and he will land somewhere decent I assume so there can't be too much hard feelings. I have been a Herman supporter but this year was just not good enough in terms of both recruiting and winning big games, so I am fine with moving on... All I can do is hope that the boosters are helping pick up the tab for this though.
It is most certainly an issue.
Take a look at the NFL draft.
Thats not all due to coaching.
And in your opinion the National Championship can be won next year?
Better Fire Sarkisian now we don’t have the horses.
Start with the Oline and think about how it looks. We don’t need the Brockemeyer types?
How far off do I think it is?
no at this moment i dont think texas could win the natty next year, but i certainly think they can win the big 12 and get into the CFP, which is far better than anything thats been done during hermans years, even though they had the talent level to do that every year hes been here
you said you think they aren't even close. i disagree.
Edit: Alabama TE Coach Banks looks like a no go.....

There are some good vibes going around on RB LJ Johnson from all sites.
Here is the TFB version
If it was about keeping Stan Drayton, then we should be in good shapeI chatted with LJ Johnson a bit and it sounds like coach Sarkisian has already been in touch with him. In terms of his decision LJ tells me, “I’m still deciding. I still won’t have a decision probably until February”.
He did fill out his school application at Texas and sources on the OU side tell me he did the application for OU. I would assume he did the same for TAMU. That’s no small thing – those applications are long, so typically if a kid goes through that it means they are either very serious about going to that school or are committed.
We do believe OU has decided to not take a high school back. So, for now, I believe they are out
