Yes they can win, and they will win.
Suns are avergaing 107 PPG (while giving up 110!) and shooting FG 47% (same as Spurs).
The Spurs average 96 PPG, will they speedup to play PHX's game and score 110+ tonight?
Will Amare play enough minutes well enough to make any difference?
Can the .750 Spurs beat the sub-.300 Suns on the Spurs' court?
Yes they can win, and they will win.
ESPN Classic right now, 2003 Western Conference 1st Round, Spurs vs Suns
Amare as a rookie, Robinson, Stephen Jackson, Malik...the old gang...good times
Amare had a very nasty high-light-reel block of a Tim dunk even back then.
ugh ... i still remember those 2 bank shots like it was yesterday... basically anything that could have gone wrong against us that night did go wrong.
I hope you all wear their legs down to tonight, so they'll still be kinda tired when the Mavs play em thursday.
Suns take this one...
Good luck guys, you better beat them. I would love to see them drop to 1-4, that would be so funny especially since no one really expected them to start off slow.
I think you shoud wait until the Mavs win a game before you talk about anything at all.
Yeah, they just showed when Kevin Willis almost murdered Scott Williams.
Key points :
- It will be Spurs' 5th game in 7 days. Spurs need to be not too tired against a team that runs a lot.
- Keeping 2 bigs on the court, Elson should help Spurs to be able to do so.
- Stoping Barbosa : he is Suns' X factor.
- Manu vs. Bell. Manu has been average so far, let's see what he will do against a strong defender.
All great points, particularly the last one. Some of Manu's best performances have come against the Suns, and I expect he'll have one tonight that will remind the world why we keep him around.
Actually quite a few said they could start slow...getting a guy like amare back into the swing of things was always going to take time.
should be a good game
battle of the two guards who are struggling for form..bell vs manu.
OMG!
KSAT said the Spurs haven't won at home yet this season! We're doomed!
Considering they've played all of one game at home, it's not a big deal, Greg Simmons.
An update for those not watching the nail biter on ESPN Classic...the Spurs are winning...it looks like they will wrap this thing up!
Mavs WILL start 0-5...I said this before the GS game actually...
Man, I was at Sam's Club just off DeZavala during this game and had to watch ing Stephon Marbury make the rest of my day miserable.
Why am I watching this?
That was back in the day when TP was intimidated by Marbury...not no more!
That er didn't call glass.
Do you guys remember how much the media was trying to make spurs fans scared prior to this series? Saying how if there was any upset to look out for, it was our series, and how the suns had given us such trouble all year, how marbury was the latest spurs killer (this was true) and how Parker was always owned by him and it made parker sad and then parker's offensive game suffered?
It was funny.
same thing happened with denver, sacramento, and even further back, minnesota. we always seem to get the hot team in the first round (exception of memphis)
And then I remember this and I smile.
i'm thinking we might fall behind early... but shots will start falling and we'll get up big.
