Okafor's Defensive awareness is even worse than I remember it being.

Chinook, i know you mean well, but except for one or two games he plays awful. Whats worse ist, that because of him Poeltls minutes got cut tremendously, which visibly has shaken his confidence. Up to Gasols return, Poeltl has played very very well.
Than LMA also plays excellent, which also has cut into Poeltls Minutes.

As long as Poeltls, plays 4 minutes a game, he wont develop and that is a problem long term.
I have nothing against the idea that Poeltl should not have been benched. I do think folks are way too quick to excuse Jakob's bad play and ignore Pau's good play. Like everyone seems to think it's fine that Poeltl isn't playing well in a part-time role, but they don't think Gasol would also play better in more minutes. Both are professionals now. Both should be ready at all times. And both might need to be in a rhythm. I can get that. I feel, though, that ST's agendas makes it to where that type of objectivity just doesn't apply most of the time.

This Spurs team is so painful to watch, they have such low IQs.

DDR shot his wad against Toronto. It would be great if he could get out of this funk.

Yeah, no. This is getting really old. Gasol had a really good defensive possession to end the first quarter, and no one on here said about it. He had really good passes, and everyone is like "yeah, we knew he could do that". Spurs are plus-3 with him, and everyone is acting like that's normal. Then what, he misses a shot, and then it "Get him out of there."

Spurstalk is just so ty right now. Even as I type this, Gasol just had another good defensive possession, and I'm betting nobody commented on that either.
He had like one good defensive possession and one good pass and everything else was .

But I guess you are right and everybody else is wrong.

Here's an old-school term that best applies to DeRozan: headcase.
I'm really getting tired of seeing this kunt in a Spurs uniform.
Is "headcase" considered offensive now? I don't see the problem with it, given that mental disorders literally affect the organ inside your head

the thing with Gasol is he can't score at all. Then when he misses the bucket he's also slow running the floor that it's a straight lay up line if the other team pushes the pace. And if he's under the basket they just get a switch with a guard on him who makes a jumper/floater. Poeltl fits the playing style of the bench way better cause he's more mobile, runs the floor hard, is a better offensive rebounder and is a roll man. Gasol is still a pick and pop big

He had at least three good defensive possessions and two assists to go with his score. But I guess is good impact stats are wrong and you're the one who knows how the game is played... The way folks were talking, you'd think New Orleans went on a run with him in the game rather than as soon as he went to the bench.

First one hasn't stopped being true, no matter how much it hurts people's feelings.

Second one still hasn't been demonstrated to be wrong. They won three games with out their top guard for s sake.

    Nobody said Bryn was untouchable.

New Orleans did go on a run, it's just that the Spurs still scored a lot so the lead didn't go away. Pau being +1 is not really a good impact stat either

Using +/- for a 5 minutes stretch. Also, Pau is only +1 on a game where the Spurs are +13

Yes, yes it has. Stop being so ing dense.

I love how you claim +/- for a 5 minutes stretch but refuse to do the same for a whole season worth of sample size.

If both teams score, then neither team went on a run. Anyways, the Spurs gave up 11 points in the five minutes Gasol played. That's a pace of 105.6 a game, less than the 110.1 points the team gives up every game.

He played those 5 minutes against the Pelicans 3rd string guys, and he still looked like a whale out of water.

I've always liked Jrue Holiday... gotta feel bad for him-- AD will leave at some point and he'll start with 4 non-starters, like he did tonight.
