Bayern got really lucky today lol, I don't know if they weakened by this or if this will give them a huge moral boost.. Not betting against them though, they have been the second best team in europe after barcelona and Juve should have killed them off here

But that didn't happen. Alaba happened, twice, and Juve toyed with us the rest of the first half. After that we gathered the troops and came back.

Juve looked ty in first three months of season, but after that they have turned their around and are still probably a top 4 team in Europe in admittedly weak CL season..IF you come to think about it, that is hardest draw Bayern could have had..The team still has a defensive hole, but coming through a tie like that is pretty important for mentally suspect group..
Benfica is one of the better teams there. Two times Champions, another 5 finals plus 2 recent finals in the Europa.

No surprise, Spanish teams have been owning European compe ions lately.
It's the debate between the better league (EPL) vs the better teams (La Liga)
If it were only the top teams that are better, the argument Premier > La Liga would hold water, but second tier La Liga teams also dominate vs second tier teams from other leagues.
First, since some teams can't afford top foreign players (or in the case of Athletic Bilbao that all players have to be Basques) they have to make sure to develop good players to be compe ive. Then, La Liga fans don't like defensive teams, which is nowadays proven better then defensive counter attacking. Finally, playing worlds top teams regularly makes all teams better.

Not a surprise, EPL is only compe ive because all the teams are equally ty. Every top team from Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A, Ligue 1 would dominate the Premier league.
