Just a gut feeling, 21. The Socialist thing really hurts Sanders. Trump will use that to great advantage. & Sanders ain't a killer. He let Hillary takes his pants down. He let Warren call him a liar in broad daylight, pants down again. There is a line in a movie:::"Somebody's throat has to be cut. We both can't have you/girl."

Bernie hasn't got it in him, 21.

Biden will fight the old man, will relish the fight and will have Media in his corner, active.
i think that dies at the first debate, honestly.

Trump: You're a socialist Bernie, this country will never be socialist.

Bernie: I want to be clee-uh! I'm a democratic socialist. A socialist wants the government to own and operate all business and industry. That is not my position, but I believe healthcare should be guaranteed by the government, like we see in every maj-uh country in the world.

do you just keep repeating "you're a socialist" to that? republicans have already tried that. in 2008 mccain said that obama was a socialist and that he was even further to the left "than a senator who used to call himself a socialist" (aka bernie). during the primaries they called his policies socialist and radical. didnt work then either.

biden is very comparable to hillary as a candidate. they're largely aligned on policy. they're both seen as extensions/continuations of the obama administration (trump's campaign against hillary was essentially a campaign against obama). both come with some baggage (hillary had an ongoing investigation... biden isn't quite there, but there's some smoke that trump will play at). the policy arguments will be the same. the only difference is biden wont have to deal with being a female candidate, to the degree that some people didnt want hillary for that reason

    Why not?

Sounds like wishcasting. I thought 2016 rekt the conventional wisdom.

Bernie Sanders has been the most popular and most trusted politician in the US for about four years.
He has a 40% favorable rating and a 51% disfavorable rating

He is old/tired, worn to a nub, but, he's the only one who can win & Media knows that. Draggin' Bernie around the (socialist ) is impossible. Media cannot do that with any verve. Trump will eat this alive. Vs. Biden is a fight, a laborious unknown end, especially for Trump. A drudgery.

Sanders would be a blast for Trump. He'd have the advantage from the very start with no worries.
There are so many insane facts about Sanders support for socialism and being a freeloader when he was young its crazy. Progressive/Bernie Bros tune it out when it comes from the left as they think its just us traditional Dems trying to stymie their movement but coming from a Republican it will different as they literally represent capitalism and traditional America which is what would be under attack. he said in print that JfK "nauseated him" (not kidding he literally said that) for his liberal policies and for being mean to Communist dictators both in articles and in videos he said over and over JFK makes him want to puke, he honeymooned in Russia, he has supported foreign communist dictator after foreign dictator, to progressives this is just in one ear out another but they are so out of touch with moderate voters its insane

The socialist thing is very important as while Republicans try to paint every Democrat as a socialist it works somewhat but only to chip away on the fringes and it doesn't hit if the person is obviously not one. Bernie literally admits to being one so he's basically a walking attack ad and he has no pushback on it at all. Also over age 35 (which is what most voters are) socialism gets destroyed in polls vs capitalism. He would have a better chance if the economy was completely in the tank but since its good and all I'm thinking people wont want to raise their taxes massively and go through huge economic change at this point (polls show 75% of people under the age of 35 are optimistic about their economic future showing how out-of-touch progressives with how much people hate this current economy)

Biden would defuse the socialist thing easily by saying something like "I'm not a socialist. I fought socialism in the primaries and I won. but I will say if you Republicans keep painting every attempt to raise wages and expand healthcare as socialism you will see more and more young people not thinking so poorly of socialism." Also Biden defuses the "white men are under attack" argument righties throw around and he can just say "if traditional old white guys (not socialists but regular old white guys) are being under attack from the left so much how did I get on this stage? 55% of blacks supported me. The idea the left wants to do away with traditional white males is nonsense" then he could pick Duckworth as his VP and when Trump tries to say Dems are the party of terrorists she could repeat her lines about that being bull and how she left half her bodyparts in Iraq and that would get thrown out the window too

Joni Ernst admit it the other day the point of the Trump’s lawyers was to cast doubt on voters minds heading into Iowa and now you have Rick Scott running anti Biden ads in Iowa all the way from Florida.

I wonder why they’re all doing that as a group effort. Umm

bernie supported the cuban revolution. that means he loves dictators!

*cuban revolution ousted a military dictator (Fulgencio Batista) who on two separate occasions had come into power via coup

    1) asshole pushes himself into power through force
    2) people rise up and overthrow his regime
    3) guy who ends up in charge also turns out to be an asshole

that means anybody who supported (2) loves dictators!

One of 'em lied. I figured it was Sanders, but, this polling is not showing that.

never made sense... in the last cycle he wanted her to run and said he'd support her if she did, and that only if she (or another progressive) didnt run, that he would. he only announced his candidacy after she declined to run.

i had been on the warren bandwagon on this board for a majority of this race, but i dont think she has run a good campaign, and the recent stunt with sanders really didnt set well with me
