Also, we knew Omicron has a higher infection rate and vaccines less efficacy against it. That doesn't mean vaccines are completely ineffective against it, which was the point I was arguing.
Vaccines protect well against hospitalization and death, in their current form they aren't as good at stopping the spread of disease. Will be interesting to see if live attenuated virus vaccines change that picture.
Btw, why do you want to ditch the easiest way to mitigate airborne transmission during the worst outbreak of the pandemic so far? Seems short sighted and selfish.
