Did the protesters enter the couple's actual property?
If it is a private street the homeowner would own the street in conjunction with the other residents. My house at the lake is on a private street and my deed clearly defines the metes and bounds of the property that is exclusively mine and the metes and bounds of the property (including the street) that I own jointly with my two neighbors..

They broke down a gate that they did not have a code for. That doesn't exactly make the statement that they are there on peaceful terms.

Those that wish to defend the protestors fail to think how these situations might some day be reversed... be careful what you root for

if protesters were actually getting on their property or threatening the couple, this would be quite different. if an angry mob walked right by your house, much like how you dont have the authority to just snipe passer-byers off, you also dont have a right to point your weapon at them in a threatening manner. it's just a lesser offense.

The video is all you need to see...

IF the “mob” “protesters “ were approaching or trying to enter the private home

THAT - would have given the homeowners the right to brandish their weapons...

the video shows NO ONE within 20-25 yards of the homeowners and it shows the idiot homeowners pointing and waving and using threatening gestures with their weapons - clearly in violation of the law

you want to see how fair you are?

make the homeowners black doing the exact same thing and it would have swiftly evolved into a shootout- either with a mob member or the police themselves

there is ZERO chance black homeowners would be alive or free today if that had been the case and you are dishonest if you deny this.

Wasn’t breaking down the gate a violation of the law?

Glad they got charged. They tried to escalate a peaceful protest...thank God noone was hurt or killed because of their reckless and childish behavior. Acting like some straight up thugs to a bunch of gay and lesbian protestors smh.

This is all the prosecutor is asking for. Kids where I'm from get jail time for a lot less:

Im trying to figure out why other neighbors did not get their arms out and brandish them?
Or did they? Any interviews with the neighbors? Or was the mob just after this one couple?

If this was a peaceful and legal protest, why was there a need to breakdown the gate???

They could have just waited behind a car going thru that opened the gate.

Okay well charge the person(s) who broke gate. Who gives a about the gate? The protest was peaceful and the couple broke the law. Plain and simple.

normal people with peaceful intentions.don't have the need to destroy the gate to enter the community. Why didn’t they protest legally outside of the gated area???

The chumpette cuckolds have various theories that the gate was not knocked down and these were peaceful passers-by.

I like how the gate is the linch pin for the justification (Which is still wrong and this couple should indeed face charges for it) these right wingers are using like it absolves everything.
