It was an open handed slap in the face, as Collinsworth explained. According to NFL rules, you need 2 of those to get ejected.

Note who is the least penalized team in the league by a country mile, despite committing some of the most blatant fouls you'll ever see? It doesn't take a triple-digit IQ to figure out who Goodell wants to win.

There's a 2-flagrant foul rule ins uted in the offseason prior to the 2016 season. It was ins uted in response to the Odell Beckham vs. Josh Norman game-long fight in 2015, and modeled after the NBA rules on this matter.
