BEXAR COUNTY, Texas - The Bexar County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) is searching for a suspect after a man was found on the side of a country road, tied up and severely injured.
Sheriff Javier Salazar says someone driving on La Vernia road near Saint Hedwig Saturday morning just after 7:00 a.m. found the victim tied up with visible face and upper body injuries. They called 9-1-1 to report it.
When deputies arrived, they found a young man, possibly in his 20s, with a thin build, who was tied up and appeared to have suffered substantial injuries to his face and upper body.
“These folks, whoever did this to him, there seems to be a lot of hatred, and anger that went into this attempt to murder this young man,” said Sheriff Javier Salazar. “To leave him out here to die on a country road, it’s a pretty heartbreaking situation.”
Sheriff Salazar says it was hard to determine if he had been stabbed or shot because his injuries were so severe. But they believe that he may have been stabbed.
He was taken to SAMMC in critical condition.
The sheriff says whoever did this to him, had some hatred for this victim. The sheriff said they believe the victim was tied up and stabbed, then left to die alone on the country road.
They still need help identifying the victim, who was only able to tell deputies that his name may be Jacob or Joshua. He is more than likely in his 20s, 5'10" tall and weighs approximately 160 pounds, with dark hair and a beard. He does not have any identifiable tattoos or scars.
They are asking if you know somebody in that area who may be missing or have any information call the BCSO at 210-335-GANG.
This is an ongoing investigation.
