A player that has early bird rights must sign a contract for 2 years with no options. The EB rights would have allowed KD to sign for the max but he elected to do the 1+1 thus voiding the max allowed.

The Kevin Durant salary will fall below the $35.65M max salary because of the player option in year 2. The discount would offset the cost if Golden State elects to use the $5.3M tax midlevel.

I cannot see the spurs being players here. If Leonard gets traded. We are getting 3 or 4 guys back. Why would they spend on guaranteed spots when we could be getting 3 players for 1?

One of the most interesting available players is Tyreke Evans (just like at the trade deadline). He's coming off an excellent season and has a ton of suitors. The Boston Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers, Denver Nuggets, Miami Heat, Houston Rockets (and others) showed interest in Feb.
