isnt almost all of the job growth just existing businesses opening back up?
Many of which are currently closing or rolling back reopening again.

How far the US has fallen with cooking up these numbers. This is something a third world country like India would do. At the rate they are cooking the books I'm expecting 5 percent unemployment by September.

I have known for years that all administrations tend to fudge the unemployment numbers to their advantage. The difference with this administration it is blatantly obvious that they are fudging the numbers hence why I made that third world reference.

Yep. And I don't know why people are preemptively celebrating this anyway. Half of June was rather tame with regard to Coronavirus spread, so businesses reopened and those jobs were re-added. But guess what's happened over the past two weeks? Coronavirus brought us back to reality and we're once again seeing statewide closures of bars, restaurants, and curfews. And this recent poll showed that 76% of Americans are worried about catching it, up from 69% in mid-June. https://www.ipsos.com/en-us/news-pol...ronavirus-poll

This will likely translate into lower consumer confidence and such.

Large loss of life and disruption from illness from a pandemic costs more to an economy than shutting down. I would give you the link to the economic study on that if you weren't too lazy to read it.

The fact that Trump and Pence are celebrating this as "talent" and a remarkable achievement just shows you how ignorant they are as to how the economy and recession/recovery actually work.

It's actually scary how dumb some of what they say is.

No large loss of life yet. Let's not cut off our nose despite our face, weak man.
