Greenwald sweats Snowden's statements - Washington Post
By Greg Sargent, Published: June 24, 2013 at 4:16

Much is being made today of the news that Edward Snowden told the South China Morning Post that he’d taken the job at Booz Allen — the firm contracted by the NSA — for the explicit purpose of getting access to classified do ents that prove widespread surveillance. Some are even using the news to raise questions about the motives behind Glenn Greenwald’s reliance on do ents leaked by Snowden.

But in an interview this afternoon, Greenwald dismissed the significance of the new revelations, saying they fit in logically with the chronology that’s already publicly known about Snowden — and he challenged critics to show proof of any wrongdoing on his part.

“Anybody who wants to accuse me or anyone at the Guardian of aiding and abetting Snowden has the obligation to point to any specific evidence to support that accusation,” Greenwald told me. “Otherwise they’re just spouting reckless innuendo.”

Snowden told the South China Morning Post: ”My position with Booz Allen Hamilton granted me access to lists of machines all over the world the NSA hacked. That is why I accepted that position about three months ago.

Greenwald probably wishes he hadn't tweeted that he was working with S. since February....

Check this out. Now Greenwald is saying he didn't know Snowden's name until Hong Kong?

Greenwald: I Didn't Even Know Snowden's Name Until He Was In Hong Kong

Glenn Greenwald, one of the reporters to whom Edward Snowden leaked classified NSA do ents, said that he did not even know "where Mr. Snowden worked or what his name was until he was in Hong Kong..

liberals turning on Glen Greenwald for exposing a program that liberals would be fuming over if it occurred under Bush

Greenwald is a hero as far as I'm concerned. He exposed something Americans have, at the very least, the right to know is going on, and hasn't flinched since then even though the MSM has completely turned on him for actually doing some investigative journalism and not being a government shill. The scenario of him getting jail time for exposing the fact Americans are being spied on is something that should scare everyone.

    Chilling effect much?

CNN, foxnews, MSNBC should just turn into public access channels that show powerpoints of government press releases. It would save everyone a lot of time.

Exposing the Dark Forces Behind the Snowden Smears

Since journalist Glenn Greenwald revealed the existence of the National Security Agency’s PRISM domestic surveillance program, he and his source, the whistleblower Edward Snowden, have come in for a series of ugly attacks. On June 26, the day that the New York Daily News published a straightforward smear piece on Greenwald, the website Buzzfeed rolled out a remarkably similar article, a lengthy profile that focused on Greenwald’s personal life and supposed eccentricities.

the cia/nsa/fbi propaganda/smear machine in full force, much like the two CIA-connected Swedish girls who bedded Assange then claimed they were raped.

Ricky Bobby used the same tactics after he got kicked in the balls by Wendy Davis, smearing her by dragging in her early life, which had NOTHING to do with his sore balls.
