Judge blocks Texas governor's order limiting immigrant transport
The Biden administration argued that Gov. Greg Abbott’s directive intruded on federal authority.

A federal judge has blocked an executive order that Gov. Greg Abbott of Texas issued seeking to ban private individuals and groups from transporting immigrants who illegally crossed the border with Mexico.

In a ruling on Tuesday, U.S. District Court Judge Kathleen Cardone granted the Justice Department’s request for a temporary restraining order to prevent Abbott’s order from taking effect.

In her two-page order, Cardone said the Justice Department was en led to the ruling because it was “likely to prevail” on its arguments that Abbott’s directive uncons utionally intrudes on powers reserved to the federal government.

Why does the DOJ want it legal to transport illegals?

    Legalized bribery. Total corruption

Greg Abbott showered with energy industry campaign cash after passage of power grid bills

Texas elected officials can't receive campaign donations during the session, but after it ended in May,

they were showered in cash by the energy industry

    — even more than usual for a group known for its deep pockets and generous campaign giving.

five of the largest and most prominent companies in the Texas power grid supply chain — Calpine, Centerpoint, NRG Energy, Oncor and Vistra — or their top executives collectively

donated about $497,000 to state elected officials and political groups.

That's more than twice the $207,000 they gave during the same period when the legislative session ended in in 2019,

    11 prominent oil industry leaders,

including billionaires Kelcy Warren, S. Javaid Anwar and Douglas Scharbauer — all three whom could not be reached for comment —

combined to contribute about $3.2 million to Texas elected officials,

up from about $2.2 million over the same period following the previous legislative session in 2019.

    looks
like a reward for not passing more stringent regulations and raises questions about whether lawmakers let the oil, gas and the broader energy industry off easy for its massive failures.

"Gas producers got a pass by Texas policymakers,"

    "Making a million-dollar political donation

to reward the government for its light touch and

encourage the government to continue turning a blind eye to price gouging and windfall profits

while hundreds of people die seems like a good return on investment."

Oncor said the company "believes in actively participating in the political process."

Gov. Greg Abbott, who is heading into a reelection year in 2022,

benefited most from the flood of June campaign donations from the energy industry.

Abbott received about $4.6 million from oil, gas and broader energy interests, his largest haul ever

    "Governor Abbott represents all Texans,

and that's what he takes into account every day as he works on behalf of the Lone Star State,"

to shelters, sponsors and social service providers?

to get them off the streets, presumably.

Why does the DOJ want it legal to transport illegals?
Because they can subcontract to private companies to move these people, even to take them in front of a judge.

Most of these cage prisons are run by private contractors as well.

And the fact is, this isn't about this either. The supremacy clause of the US Cons ution means that State laws are not above Federal laws, and immigration enforcement is delegated strictly to the Federal government.

Hotwheels knows this, but he signed this EO because he's pandering to ignorant re s like Qhris.

If they were a self-employed fake christian, retweeting political bs, this would not be an issue as they would be living in their mom’s house.
