good point, we'll see what happens
Is raising a modest tax on the super elites to pay for the working class policies a cult of personality? That sounds like more of an agenda than Warren waffling between centrist and left stances and crying sexism. Yang and Tulsi have no shot
good point, we'll see what happens
Now, NOW Tom Perez calls for then to recanvass
yep. still happening. i couldn't imagine a worse way to handle this than they have. and the way they're doing it is only feeding the conspiracy theories. they're creating the worst possible narrative
I think a lot of people get emotionally attached to a candidate and, conversely repelled by others. That's why Trump is going to win in November. I will love it if the Democrats prove me wrong and I will vote for any candidate they put up-- but just look at this board as a microcosm of the party and you can see why we are going to lose.
If you want to follow the Trump model of duping rubes, be my guest.
i just wanted to be snarky for a minute
I'm going to be snarky for eight months, then probably forever.
i think if the party is concerned that disgruntled berniebros are going to them over, then maybe they should stop doing everything in their power to give those people reasons to believe that the party is out to get their guy
Probably. I look forward to the debates where Bernie tries to say "I'm not a socialist but a democratic socialist but not like the democratic socialist who actually belong to the Democratic Socialist party but more like social democrats who aren't a party but I'm independent not a Democrat but I'm running as a Democrat think of me as an independent democratic socialist social democrat see it's simple!"
det not so subtle topic switch
that sounds more like how a socialist version of joe biden or donald trump would respond
Was just on my mind. I think Berniebros will cry conspiracy no matter what. Even if he wins. That's politics today.
I look forward to the establishment wing of the Democratic Party getting their pushed in.
i agree that there is a block of them that certainly would. i think the iowa dems and DNC have basically been pouring gasoline vis-a-vis the iowa caucus results
Aside from learning old rubes can't use smartphones, I think people are learning what a cluster caucuses are in the first place and if IA wants to keep this one shred of relevance they'll reform this stupid system.
its not just the app issue... its the way they've been slow-rolling the results, now stopping at 97%, etc. there were also some actual discrepancies in the results that the NYT wrote about this morning
and then if you are going to slow-roll your results for the purpose of integrity and accuracy, how do you go about doing this... https://www.desmoinesregister.com/st...rs/4672474002/

They're going to re canvass, aka recount it.
and they waited until 97% of the results were released to do so. should have done it much earlier, as the issues were well known all along.
im actually not seeing anything official about a recanvass happening. i know tom perez called for it, but he cant unilaterally do that. the iowa democratic party calls the shots, not the national committee. they released a statement today saying that they are still working on finishing their results (lol 3%) and that a candidate can request a recanvass which they will then consider

Worried about the same thing, and Id never advocate for any action that gets Trump reelcted. That's a serious thing to face when the time comes.
It's wrong to blame the voters for something that's been orchestrated by the party though. But to your point, a lot of them don't know that. The biggest group to lose would be Bernie's base. If he doesn't win, I think Trump gets reelected. Impeachment gave the GOP and Trump their best fundraising period, he's all set to go at whoever. DNC is set to stop their anti establishment candidate even though he has the base to win. I think he'll pull if off though.
I used to think this but I don’t see it after Trump was able to get through an extremely contentious 2016 primary and win vs a candidate who, despite her ing and moaning about how hard the 2016 primary was, was about as close as a non-in bent candidate could get to running in an uncontested presidential primary.
If the Ted Cruz supporters were still able to show up for Trump after Trump called Cruz’s wife an ugly dog or whatever then Biden supporters will get over it if Sanders wins.
I wouldn't worry about those as much as independents and old people who will never vote for an avowed socialist.
Perez is getting his packed in
Bernie gets $25m in January alone, 6k more votes in Iowa than Pete
