No, they're just not very good right now tbh
Is this team bored, tbh? It's like they either completely bring it, or just mail it in... tonight was one of those nights that felt like they were going through the motions. Kinda thinking the Knicks were gonna lay down at some point. We came out with a commanding 8-0 run, then just sat back... not just the players, tbh.... Pop also with some head-scratching rotations...

Don't buy it.
It's the D-League Knicks. New York kept trying to throw away the game themselves at the end.
At this point I think it's just pure denial if you don't think there's anything significantly off with the Spurs. Reminds me of the 2011 Laker fans thinking the team can just turn on the "switch" come playoff time and they were just cruising in the regular season. When playoff time came, the Lakers just got demolished by the Mavs.
The motivation just isn't there, Parker is a step slower, Duncan has been making dumb mistakes, Spurs aren't shooting lights out at the 3 anymore, Splitter is inexplicably playing like 2013 finals mode, and Leonard still isn't ready to step up.
You don't think we win this game is we play with the same intensity and attention to detail we played against the Cavs?
Why da doesn't pop put the starting lineup at the end?
I'm as concerned as anybody as far as effort is concerned. I don't think it should be something that you should toy with. Bring it every night. But, to me, the team just only does it sporadically.
they'll be fine, they just played down to their compe ion. we lost a game to the knicks last year too
They couldn't make layups tonight. 38%. That's all I can say.
I bet Nono doesn't mind this loss to much, uh?..
You almost have to TRY to lose to a team that bad.
I really don't, tbh... I mean, I always rather win, but I've watched this team mail it in half this season already
Oh, you meant because Gino didn't play? I still would rather get a W...
That Manu value to the team, though...
I just hope they don't drop a lot of games while he's out, tbh...
Of course. I think your argument hinges on intent though. I don't see clear evidence that they intend to lose focus and attention to detail. I can only see that, all too often, it's not there.

There's nowhere to go. Spurs can't lose games fast enough to catch New Orleans or the Thunder, most likely, and won't win fast enough to make a meaningful push up the ladder. Right now there's nothing to get excited about. It's why teams who have it sealed early often start playing extra ty as their players get accustomed to not having pressure to win.
That and Manu brings the spark off the bench.
There is no excuse for this loss, especially late in the season. They're just mentally soft this year.
But we're very good. We just don't play the way we need to play for 48 mins to be very good.
Who is baking the crumpetts tonight?
Kori, you're coming?
I mean, it's easy to predict that "they don't have it" this year, etc etc etc... but they did have it for a bunch of games on end... just very inconsistent. I was more worried when TP looked like he couldn't walk, but he got his speed back now, besides the missing guys, there's no reason to mail it in like that.
This loss wouldn't have bothered me as much, if our schedule wasn't such a coming up.
Not about being good or bad at this point. We know what this team can do when they're playing their best. Seeding is all that matters right now. Spurs aren't winning anything without at least a top 4 seed. It's there for the taking. Unfortunately it looks like these guys are content with 5 which is pathetic imo. A 6th ring would put Duncan up there in Goat status imo and the franchise a dynasty so we can see phil choke on a .
Agreed 100%. However, Pop expected his guys to compete and they didn't.
