Yeah that much is clear. What’s not clear (to me at least) is what they’re fed up about. It doesn’t make sense to me that a bunch of urban protestors in Paris who barely drive are this pissed about a green tax and nothing else.
Cosmic Cowboy been watching Fox News about it why dont you ask him?
He started a thread even!

Funny, that's what it says on all the news here in the US. Why don't you explain it?

Although I hate guardian they sometimes have decent articles

IMO its basically:
Our salaries are low or nonexistent and taxes sky high. This extra tax probably was the last drop that overflowed the cup. That and Macrons smugness and stupidity created the perfect storm.
Paris (CNN)French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe has canceled a trip to the COP24 global climate conference in Poland because of the riots in France, the Matignon Palace told CNN.
The decision comes as the French government said it was considering "all options" to control protests against rising fuel prices that have turned violent in Paris over the last three weeks, a spokesman said Sunday.
Speaking on France's Europe 1 radio, spokesman Benjamin Griveaux said the government is thinking about steps to prevent "serious outbursts of violence," including introducing a state of emergency.
More than 400 people were arrested and 133 injured in Paris on Saturday in clashes between police and protesters with the "gilets jaune" or "yellow vest" movement, who are protesting rising gas prices and taxes on polluting forms of transport.
An estimated 36,000 people demonstrated in Saturday's protests across the country, marking the third consecutive week of such demonstrations, according to the French Interior Ministry. About 53,000 participated last week and about 113,000 the week before.
Griveaux said that between 1,000 and 1,500 people joined Saturday's demonstrations "only to fight with the police, to break and loot." He added that those protesters "have nothing to do with the yellow vests."
Footage shared by French police on Saturday showed a few demonstrators striking a police vehicle and smashing its windshield. Other videos captured burning cars and police firing tear gas to disperse protesters.
Brazil, from what I’m reading, these protests started out as protests from rural voters who were pissed about the green tax but they’ve turned into much bigger protests about things like minimum wage being too low and Macron repealing the wealth tax while doing nothing to help the working class. How accurate is that?
lol CC spouting Daily Caller and Fox nonsense. What a coincidence.
Meanwhile:

Tell us more about how rioting is good now

... is why USA's bridges, roads etc are badly in need of maintenance or replacement.
"United States $0.53"
Oligarchy has suckered people into believing "low taxes and hate/destroy all govt" is some kind of solution (for the non-oligarchy). Just another destructive myth Americans swallow.
"It's like the Boston Tea Party except they're throwing climate change into the Mediterranean Sea!"
This has little to do with climate change and more about bread and butter.
They attacked Louis Vitton and Dolce Gabanna stores for a reason. They are fed up with elite ignoring and abusing them tbqh
Btw 75% french ppl support the protesters
Macron has 25% approval rating and dropping fast
You mean Fox News ?
It is not really about green tax.. for months now a part of French are fed up with macron reforms.. macron took unpopular measures to decrease budget deficit: state employees cut, increase of contributions for health systems, reform of universities and schools, eradication of a stupid tax paid by the 1% of the population...
people were increasingly upset and government took a measure to increase diesel (after the whole dieselgate story tha btw has nothing to do with climate change but particles), the problem is that measure impacts mostly low income people as they used to buy diesel (cheaper on the long run); the yellow jersey movement was born and has been since politized. They brought that to Paris where a minority of dumbasses take advantage of that relatively peaceful movement to riot and destroy..
thats basically what happened. Not the first time nor the last. France is near “impossible” to reform, country has been built through revolutions.. that’s the way it is
Le Pen is a socialist now, asked for electricity prices to be cut, and pensions and salary raises.
She is probably wanting to unite with social parties to gain power. Same thing that happened in Italy. And now their government is uber powerful with this union.
This is probably what elite globalists are terrified about. The social left uniting with right nationalist/libertarian parties.
It would be the end of them. That is probably why mainstream media in US and UK are fighting tooth and nail against any alliance between socialists and nationalists/libertarians
The media tells you socialists and nationalists canot coexist. But thats bull
National socialism?
Sounds like a great idea!
Well, they can't. They might be able to vote together in a couple issues out of spite of the current government, but there's no way those two can make a coalition together.
Already tried and failed in Spain.
Le Pen is the typical political opportunist, tbh... Populism + socialism has been a solid vote-getter in recent times, see: Trump, Donald.
Its working in Italy
Yes they can coexist and even work together
Elite globalists, mainstream demorats and repugs are ed
