He's a role player playing in badly constructed team

People all the time about Danny green and bertans being let go, yet they don't see the pattern. Spurs aren't the role player paradise they were with the big 3. They can identify talent but can't maximize it with the max iso regime.

So by all means, about Forbes but the problem isn't him or belli or Lyle's at all. There's no magic player who shoots well and defends that's available at low salary, and even if they were on the roster, they're still be subordinated to iso .

those three are all better than bryn
And in reality none of those players should be starters in the 1st place.. I think to a degree the NBA is sitting a plateau in star level talent. SPURS diffidently are failing in that department.

Exactly. He does have value, but only in short stints as a Mike Miller / Steve Kerr type player. Only has one NBA level skill, good shooting. But to ask him to defend starting SGs/PGs in this era is disastrous for his confidence. He's put in the wrong role.

What's crazy worse is we have one or two other young guys who are easily better fits for SG, and they are either playing other roles or aren't playing at all. It's a double negative effect.

A comparable player to Forbes is Quinn Cook. And no one confuses him for a starting caliber player on a team actually trying/not blatantly tanking.

Walker should be starting at the 2 ,Forbes is a carbon copy of Mills, you can't have both getting that much floor time.

Bryn Forbes beats out Isaiah Thomas for worst defensive player in NBA history, tbh.

    Let that sit with you.

I think the better question is will the Spurs continue to start Bryn Forbes after they are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs? Why not give Lonnie Walker 30 minutes a game at that point?

bruh why do all of yall think Pop will change his rotations? He went on multiple losing streaks and is 8 games under 0.500 and didn't make one trade or one change in the starting line up for months now. He won't change anything. He will go down with the ship his way, because that's who he is. A senile old idiot

Yeah, Mills is infinitely better at everything vis-a-vis Forbes. That begs the question, what is the point of Forbes? Just start Patty Mills!

Walker played the same amount had the same shot attempts . Scored 7 less pts had 2 more tos, and played dumb, per usual.
Walker has had every opportunity this year to play better than forbes, but sadly even for as terrible as forbes has been, hairdo has been less impressive
