Haven’t watched the game but the box score is looking nice for Collins!
He looked better than he's looked thus far. Pretty damn good in fact.

Running, passing, shooting, rebounding, blocking shots . . .

All (many?) of these 7 footers are susceptible to injuries because of the size of their bodies and the demands that NBA basketball puts upon them. But wouldn't it be nice to have this acquisition work out well for him and the team?

Why doesn't Cacok get more minutes over Wieskamp? Seems like another Blossomgame situation. Plays at our position of most need and gets no chances . . .

They might be the same height but Wieskamp is a wing and a decent 3pr shooter, Ca is a very undersized center who can’t score beyond 5-10 ft.

Although a couple of games ago he was 2 for 4 from 3 point range.

I’m not suggesting he’s a 3 pt threat, just that if he’s taking 3 pointers that his range is likely better than 5-10 feet.

I’m hoping he could improve that with Coach Chip. I like the kid.

I don’t know if Coach Chip could be credited for Keldon’s remarkable 3pt shooting strokes. 3rd best in the league and could really become a 3 and D, with occasional bullying inside.

Yea I don't get the hate on Devontae. He has been tearing it up at what he's asked to do. Hussle, rebound, and clean stuff up. He's great for that role. I think he's an NBA player and it's only a matter of time for him to solidify a role there.

He's a power forward in the build of many pfs today. Smaller and quick. He has enough athleticism to compete with bigger bodies and has the drive to beat them more oft than not.

Think he can be a quality role player.

He can take Eubanks spot… who fking cares. Am I the only Spurs fan tired 1/3rd of our roster are fringe G-Leaguers. KBD, Eubanks, Landale, Ca , Jauncho who gives a fk. Why do we have 5,15th men on the squad? I heard Austin Daye got 12 rebounds at an LA Fitness in Wisconsin yesterday. Jeff Ayres and Mengke Bateer have added 3 pt shots in the Mongolian league.

You have to have role players. It's never been more important than recently with all of the quarantines this season. Eubanks played about 15 minutes the other night and the spurs were -22 in those 15 minutes. Like it or not, role players make a difference for better or worse. You can't play big men 48 minutes a game in this run and gun age. They get winded faster than ever. Those rotational bigs have legit roles to carve out these days.

So... I was wrong about what Collins' role could be with the main team. He looks very much like a Center-only type player who could maybe play PF in (very) short stretches and depending on match-up.

The question now is... how are they going to let go of Eubanks? Or does this mean that Poeltl's job isn't secure? It may be a stretch to say all this for sure, but Collins looks damn good out there (against G-League talent, I know).

I think this is Eubanks last season here. He’s terrible on defense, and undersized for a C. He gets after it, but that’s not enough, most games.
