I have no idea as I don't root our Nexus, and until Android L starts being sent OTA, I don't think you'll know. From what I read, if they really are updating the bootloader, I would suspect it won't work.
anakha, resistanze, leemajors or ElNono
Can you answer this pls :
My 2012 N7 (4.4.4) is rooted , stock firmware and stock recovery
If I check "Survival Mode" in Super SU, can I get the OTA update?
Or should I unroot?
The "survival mode" method worked when I updated OTA to 4.4.4 (incremental update), but 5.0 apparently is bundled with a new bootloader so I don't know how a FULL update to everything would affect it
Thank you pls

That's what I'm thinking
So I'm guessing I will have to re-lock the bootloader and un-root
Or install a custom recovery and flash an Android L custom ROM
AOSP lollipop roms should already be available for Nexus 5 and 7 from what I heard.
Haven't done this in a while...I think you need to re-lock bootloader with stock...
yeah
If I'm not too lazy I will re-lock and unroot
Or just install a custom recovery and flash away
(Nexus device, so I ROMs should be available immediately)
Actually, as per the creator of SuperSU, 5.0 makes it so that you'd have to flash a modified stock kernel to get root access, so regardless of what happens, you're going to lose root in upgrading to Lollipop.
Might as well unroot and ensure you get the OTA with no issues.
Not yet - Google held up the source code because there seems to be a WiFI wakelock bug in the current version of 5.0.
When can we update our Nexus 5 to lolipop tbh? A lot of crashes as of late on my N5. Does anyone else experience constant crashes with LA Times? That app is such a wreck.
BTW i hope Google fixes the battery drainage on Nexus 5 soon.
Lollipop should be released on November 12
Yeah I will re-lock the bootloader and unroot
Um, incorrect.

Yeah, just double-checked and the source code was released already. Good catch.
