I thought so...
I will probably be the only one celebrating at the river walk for the championship too.
Who's impressed/content/satisfied with 51-20 for now?

But, but - the Mavs!!! They have 60!!!
whatever.
then you have to be impressed with 60-11.
play fair little boy
butim impressed how the Spurs have bounced back from their earlier slump. they look much like past teams. hopefully nobody overlooks them
50-20 =
wew should fukn be 63-7
Realisticly they should be about 55-16.
But, thats life, thats basketball, thats how the ball bounces...
Not the best season ever, but who knows how itll finish in the playoffs.
If Bob Hill was coaching, they would be 69 and 1 and Boston would still be looking for their first win against SA in the Duncan era.
During SA's bumpy 10-10 stretch from January 1-February 11, 7 of those 10 losses were by 5 points or less. Considering the way they play now, able to come back from a deficit, and/or close out close games, let's say they win at least 3 of those 7 5-point-or-less losses, it's a team that realistically can be 54-17.
People don't like to admit it, but there has been improvement since that bumpy 20 game run, and there's no reason why it won't continue heading into the playoffs.
Bob Hills sucks.
The Spurs players wanted him gone.
He has done crap since he left.
After San Antonio, Fordham gave him a 10 year contract. And then somehow he managed to coach them into the worst record in school history (two wins in an entire season? )
They fired him and gave him the rest of his money to leave.
Then he sat home for two years pretending to be a private coach for players, meanwhile calling around the league begging for assistant jobs, until he finally landed in Seattle.
And some people have the nerve to think he is as good as Pop?
My ass.
Broseph.. they are playing lottery teams right now... Name one great win besides Detroit.
Does SpursDynasty really need to start a thread like this after every win?
Detroit twice, and Houston supposedly (I don' know why this board considers Houston a good or great team, they are average at best). And there aren't that many great teams in the NBA at all, so even over an 82 game season, there aren't that many great wins.
Great teams in the NBA = 3 teams
Good teams = 6 teams
Average = 7 teams
Bad teams = 14 teams
Utah is coming up Friday. Phoenix next Thursday. The Spurs will show they are for real.
I like it. Saves me the time of looking up the current record.
I do it TO MAKE IT KNOWN: 18-2 over the last 20.
Are they doing anything really really impressive? No. All pretty much lottery teams other than Detroit. Taking care of business? Yes. Which is what they weren't doing before. They were losing to lottery teams, and they've fixed the problem.
If they end up 2-2 vs Dallas and Utah each, they'll get more respect. They'll have the chance to get 2-2 on the season series with Utah on Friday.
March 28, 2006 55-16
I'm very impressed with 51-20. We have veteran players who know how to win. I'm expecting nothing less than a western conference finals appearance and I honestly think we can take the Mavs and Suns.
See. Not bad. The Spurs are "on the decline and old and unathletic", yet are only 4 games behind the pace of their best season in franchise history last year.
Im just grateful we HAVE a 50+ win team year in and year out... people are ing spoiled... I want as many championships as possible in the Duncan era but our years cant come soon enough so we can lose these fair weather fans, or at least remind them what it used to be like before we lucked out on Drob then ducan.
All that matters is the playoffs. Win then, and its all good.
If the Mavs record isn't impressive, how can this be?
..apparently you didn't get the memo, the mavs suck. sorry dude.
if the players see themselves as underdogs during playoffs, we have a great chance to celebrate for a fourth ring after a sweep over the first NBA finals appearance of King James
More than the record, I like how the team is playing now. I had given up hope when we were blowing double digit leads and falling apart at the end of games earlier in the seasons. Aside from those two flukes last week, I think we've been playing some pretty good ball lately. Upcoming games against PHX and UTH will be pretty good barometers of where we are for the playoffs. I'd like to catch PHX for the 2 seed, but I'm content with playing the Los Angeles Kobes in the first round.
I just hate the regular season of any sport. Postseason is so much more fun. If not for 81 point games and 60 foot 3 pointers to force OT, I don't know if I'd even keep up with the NBA until April.
