Just sucks that this finally happens when it’s probably one of the weakest drafts ever, where a low lottery pick isn’t much different than an early second rounder.

Racking up those Ls
Come on sa! Still a shot at 12th!
I can't wait for SPAM, as in Spurs Plummet After March. The Rodeo Road Trip is also going to be a blood bath. Good times for tanking purposes.
No chance of the playoffs now realistically - losing to bad teams means Spurs are just another bad team.
Too many pound/shelter puppies on this team and not enough AKC dogs! The mixture of too short, non explosive, non shooting, defending and consistency is crushing this team. Not to mention poor lineups and rotations. These big money aging guys are never getting any better. Cut bait and let's move into the new century before the league is so far ahead that we can't catch up.
LA already ruled out for tomorrow’s game against the Jazz. Another L
Spurs really need to hope that Memphis loses to Denver because if they don't and we lose to Utah, then we'll be 3 games back of the 8th seed.
I know it’s been discussed ad-nauseam but I still don’t care about games back from the 8th seed. If you aren’t even a .500 team who cares about making the playoffs. Over half the teams in the league make the playoffs and having a losing record is a failure.
The Spurs care, that's why I think its important. They probably don't care that they are probably going to be 7 games under .500 after the Utah game but it matters how far back they are of the 8th seed.
Spurs shouldn’t have to hope another team fails. Maybe if they actually took advantage of some winnable games early on. They clearly don’t deserve to make it, even though they “care” to be there. Making the playoffs with an under .500 record and giving Pop an excuse to run back the same team next year <<<<< missing the playoffs and actually trying to make changes in the offseason.
The team already had notable flaws last year, but because they took Denver to 7 games, they bought into that we will be improved with Murray back hype and didn’t improve the team much, aside from getting burned by Morris, but it’s not him to blame for Forms looking like a G League scrub. And now look at the state of the roster.
If that’s the case we should be very worried about the state of this franchise moving forward. Your goal is to build winners not just make the playoffs. That is an absolutely ridiculous mindset to have in any field let alone sports. Being less worse than others is not an organizational direction or Vision. Great front offices innovate and never stop looking for ways to improve. If they are satisfied and have meaningless goals like making the playoffs despite the fact they built a losing team it’s a rather large concern in my eyes.
“Hey, we were the 9th seed - it means we are this close!!”
“Umm, you’re actually closer to the 13th seed than 8th and were not even a .500 club”
“Who cares! We are the next in line for the 8th seed!!”
The Spurs don't care that much. They don't care enough to make significant adjustments.

Memphis is surging and looks like they are going to be above .500 pretty soon.
Every step further from the 8th seed by the Spurs is a win in my book. Roll on the tank, let's get it over with, tbh.
Memphis pulling away,tbh
This draft is crap but the Spurs need to miss the playoffs just so the front office and Pop gets the message that this crap roster needs an overhaul.
Memphis is about to be one game below .500 (hopefully not jinxing it) while the Spurs are six below .500 and have a tough schedule including the RRT.
this one is over; this team doesn't have the dudes with the love and fire to right the ship. Just a bunch of losers earning a paycheck.
Good. Grizzlies deserve it. I know some fans want that streak to continue so they’re desperate for any run, but it’s really embarrassing that the thunder and Grizzlies who were projected to be worse than the Spurs have actually played like they belong in the playoffs, while the Spurs (Pop) strategy is throwing away winnable games and hoping the teams above them lose. It’s such a loser strategy for a successful franchise like the Spurs.
Wouldn’t count out the Guests passing the Spurs in the standings soon either
And the Suns are one game in the loss coming behind the Spurs. Go Suns!
