Just a thought. Lebron has always had positive things to say about Pop and the Spurs culture. What better coach/place would LeBron want Bronny to play for knowing that he is not ready for the NBA right away. LeBron will be 40, and I feel, will take a step back to let Wemby be the main focus of the team. Imagin LeBron setting up Wemby for easy buckets. Le Bron may accept a 3yr contract at a discounted pricewith the 3rd being a team option, in order to have a chance to play with his son in the NBA. Bronny will for sure play the majority of his season in the G-league his 1st year and most likely his 2nd year with a couple games sprinkled in here and there to join the big club and play next to his father. LeBron knows that Pop want try to rush Bronny, but instead help develop him over the 1st few years. LeBron would slide in to the starting SF position effortlessly, and could help the Spurs win at least 1 before his contract ends and most likely retire, but who knows, he could play until he's 45 if with Bronny by his side. I believe Bronny could eventually develop into a nice player for the Spurs. I know that Wemby would learn a lot from LeBron, and if the ball's fall right, the Spurs could be competing for the chip 2 years from now, especially with further experience and thw development of Wemby.

On paper, Bronny's not a bad piece. He has the size to be a good guard defender. He has to commit himself to being a role-player who plays tough D, hits open shots and can bring the ball up the floor against moderate pressure. A guy who can do that for 8-12 years has had a successful NBA career. We'll just have to see if Lebron will let his son have that.

All these mocks now have Dunn dropping to the early 2nd. Would much rather him.

i think Dunn is a small ball center type. kind of like what Thad Young became, and what PJ Washington moonlights as. Grant Williams played a bit of center for Charlotte down the stretch. think Bassey but more switchable

i dont think Dunn in the 2nd would be bad per se, but have to understand he's basically coming in to be a smaller barlow/bassey. he may end up better than them. but i dont think he's a wing at all

How about Bronny at the 48 pick, just before the LAL could take him at 55?

I don't know, he's isn't even projected in most mock drafts, or only going to... the Lakers in the second round (#55) this year for some. He might withdraw and wait for next year where ESPN has him at #39. But he could be a fringe NBA player (like most second rounders).

    We'll see.

Would love for us to take Bronny with the Lakers SRP and then force them to trade for him for a 2029 FRP swap so they can placate dad

That was my thought, hold LAL hostage over Bronny Jr draft rights.

Bronny collapsing on the floor during practice in San Antonio would be catastrophic.

If picking Bronny gives you even a 10% chance of leveraging his dad to play for your team, don't you have to do it?

Adding Dillingham, Lebron James, and Risacher in one offseason? We’re instantly a second round playoff team right?

    Im all for it.
The kid has tremendous talent that was derailed last year by the heart episode and then the cluster that was USC.
He needs a year or two in the Gleague but I think he will be a good defender immediately at the PG spot and he has his father’s work ethic to develop his game.
If he brings Lebron that’s a bonus

I think Bronny knows who he is as an NBA prospect. Small guard who's an effective defender, off ball shooter, won't dominate the ball and will need to be effective in spacing / cutting / moving off ball etc.

Miles McBride is a fine piece surrounding the right pieces, and he has similar strengths and weaknesses. If Bronny wasn't LeBron's son, he wouldn't be as discussed, and would be more likely to go back to school, but he's not a total nothing - I can see why teams would like to draft him in the mid - late second (or sign him as an undrafted FA).

Increased revenue and hype for the team, seems like a good use of the pick for the $. You pretty much hear more about Bronny over any college player right now.

This thread has me looking at a few options for that 35th pick. I'd probably prefer packaging it with a few 2nds and moving up into the mid 20's, but assuming we stay here and wait and see who falls there's a few guys I like.

PF types- Trevon Brazile, Zacharie Perrin, Ulrich Chomche

SF types- Bobi Klintman, Tyler Smith, Tristan Da Silva

SG types- Pelle Larsson, Pacome Dadiet, Nikola Djurisic

    PG types- Bronny, Tyler Kolek

    C- Zach Edey

I know a few of these guys won't be there (Edey and Tristan Da Silva probably go top 20, but stranger things have happened).

I prefer tne PF options best here, followed by the SF and SG types in the next grouping.

Chomche, Ajay Mitc and Juan Nunez are my favorite targets at 35.

I like all of your "SF types" (though I think all of them might be more of PF types?), but unfortunately not sure any of them will be there at 35.

Problem is, he's 6'1" so he doesn't have the size, he hasn't proven he can hit open shots or be an effective on ball guard. So yes, barring everything needed to have a successful career, he has everything else needed to have a successful career. If this wasn't LeBron's son, he'd have to go through 4 years of college for a small chance at success in the NBA, which is more than he may have if LeBron insists in making him his own personal Thanasis.

There's alot I like about Nunez. If he could shoot he'd be top 5, but that shot looks completely broken to me. It's worse than Holland.

On the SF types, I agree they'll probably end up at Pf in time. Klintman will need to fill out, but the others may be there already.

And he still shoots better than Topic!

But I do agree, and think 35 is a good spot for Nunez. I assume he'll make the Olympic Squad for Spain since he was on the World Cup team (assuming they qualify).

At FanDuel, James has attracted 30% of the tickets to be selected first overall by the Atlanta Hawks, the most for any player at the sportsbook. BetMGM reports that the USC guard has 36.8% of the bets, well ahead of Alex Sarr (-300), who has the second most at 14%. James was not initially listed in the No. 1 overall market at DraftKings, but found himself in the field as of Thursday afternoon.

James has consensus odds of 200-1 to be taken with the draft's first pick -- tied with Purdue's Zach Edey for the longest on the board. Those long odds, in addition to the discrepancy in bets to handle, would seem to indicate that a lot of small-money bettors are taking a flier on the wild scenario. James is projected as a late-second-round pick in ESPN's latest mock draft.
FanDuel reported that James has only 6% of the handle to go first overall, while BetMGM placed that figure at 4.1% -- a far cry from Sarr's commanding 65.5% of handle at the book.
"We're not concerned with racking up a liability there," BetMGM senior trader Halvor Egeland said. "It's all relatively small wagers, nothing over $100."

DraftKings and BetMGM both list LeBron James' current team, the Los Angeles Lakers, as the favorite to draft the younger James with +180 odds. At DraftKings, the 19-year-old is the leader in both bets (33%) and handle (60%), but BetMGM has LeBron's former team, the Cleveland Cavaliers (10-1), as the handle leader with 34.8%.
