    This is useful info:

San Antonio reached agreement on a guaranteed deal with Euroleague guard Brandon Paul, sources told ESPN.
No two-way, no d-league. Dude is expected to grab a roster spot.

Would be a huge waste of the LLE.

No, he's being dumb. There's nothing about pulling the QO that makes using cap space more reasonable.
I think the confusion was caused by Jabari saying that the Spurs renounced Simmons.

Certainly didn't help. A lot of people have been calling it that.

To be honest, it's likely that SA submitted Gay's contract as soon as he signed it. They would not have tweeted it out only to sit on it for days, nor would they have had Gay drive down to SA to sign a deal and then not submit it. Once that's done, the Spurs are announcing they are going to be over the cap. While they can get cap space, they would lose the room exception.

So with the signing of Paul and the continued negotiations with Simmons, sounds a little like Manu is out. Unless they waive Forbes...

From me asking around even w a deal signed if SA had cap space (to where MLE no longer allowed) Gays deal would convert to cap space vs MLE.

Maybe they asked Manu and he told them he was retiring but told them not to make it public so he can write an article about it first. Idk, this is kinda weird.

Fine with me so long as not renounced outright. Can get him cheaper than 9 mil.

That's fine and all, but what about the imbalanced roster. So 3 legit bigs with lma, gasol, and joffrey. Jesus christ I hope a trade is in the works. Not looking forward to relying on a disgruntled lma to be our sole rim protector. That's scary.

I hope the Paul signing is a non guaranteed deal where he has to make good at training camp to earn a spot. If gua ranted and one of Manu and Simmons sign that leaves only room for gasol.

I fear Manu was hoping we'd get CP3 but once we lost out on that, he probably doesn't think the team as constructed can beat the Dubs and therefore, doesn't want to go through another long grind only to be runner-ups again.

Spurs overpaid the most replaceable free agent they had at 12:01am

I hate Deadman, but at least he played defense
And by defense, you mean he just fouled the out of people.

lol. Maybe Lebron told Dejounte, get Carmelo and I'll be there next season. Don't know where we'd get the money from, though.
Everybody knows we're dangling Aldridge at this point (even Aldridge's real estate agent knows lol)

He deserves the same respect as TD when no one was sure if he'd retire, tbh. And no one was clamoring for him to leave.

Manure has been doing this schtick since 2013

Why is he waiting until all the good free agents are gone? I think we all know why, $$$$.
