Our other built in advantages like much, much less population density than a New York, not much use of mass transit, and sunlight all year around (I think the "warm weather" theory might have to do more with a region's particular UV profile than just raw temperature. It's a fact of nature these viruses don't withstand UV light) are playing big roles, as well. But yes, credit our response, although we were a bit late in SoCal. I just hope there isn't an impending "Mardi Gras" e like they're seeing in New Orleans. The casino factor still worries me, as they were all running up until mid-March.

We seem to be dodging bullets. Texas, as well. And Florida looks good. Hope they don't have a Spring Break factor or something.

Makes perfect sense. If you go over there on your own you have to stand in line. If you get ambulanced over, they either take you inside to the end of the line, or, they drop you off at the beginning of the line.

I dont think anyone should be panicing tbqh

but that does not mean we should do a thisisfine.gif that would be delusional

this is some serious and thousands will die probably thousands that did not need to die had we been better prepared and responded better

but it is what it is

time to face the music and do our part to keep calm and resist thats coming

not really. if you're uninsured, ambulance rides can be pricey. and even if you are insured, if they are only covered if deemed medically necessary, and you're still dealing with deductibles, etc. and that's only for policies that DO specifically cover ambulance services. many health plans don't touch them at all

...instead though everybody (like you) calls ass on Trump THEN spills their guts begging God & both sides of the R&D faction to act like somebody.

When "you" no longer call ass first & beg 2nd, but, instead (beg) then (we'll) know.

Since Manu's retirement, the nikka hater been spending 90% of this time in this section.

He used to spend about 70% of his time upstairs but I think he's given up on bball.

early restrictions in CA on public gathering is helping to flatten the curve, versus other states who are not as restrictive (if at all):

Alabama governor won’t issue shelter-in-place order because ’we are not California.’ By population, it’s worse.
    https://www.washingtonpost.com/polit...ion-its-worse/

Trump Death Cult finally met a crisis they can't lie their way out of.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“Y’all, we are not Louisiana, we are not New York State, we are not California,” she said on Thursday, according to the Montgomery Advertiser. “Right now is not the time to order people to shelter in place.”

In terms of raw case totals, that’s true. Data from Johns Hopkins University compiled through Thursday show that Alabama’s case total is in the hundreds, compared to thousands of cases in Louisiana and California and tens of thousands in New York.

But, again, the concern that shelter-in-place orders are meant to address is the spread of the virus. And on that metric, things in Alabama don’t compare quite as well.

On the graph below, lines that increase more rapidly (have a steeper slope) have seen faster spreads since the 10th recorded case in that state. It’s hard to tell, but Alabama’s line is rising faster than California’s.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Trumps "tone at the top" is providing political cover for Death Cult leadership to ignore science, as they are wont to do.

Wait until mid-week next week, and Florida is looking like Italy. Cross off another Death Cult governor's re-election chances.

Called it. Slower, and less effective responses on the part of red state governors is going to spread disease faster than otherwise might be the case. Trump making the case for keeping business open and going back to work will make it worse.

The Coronavirus Isn’t Just A Blue State Problem
Detected cases are higher in blue states, but growing faster in red states.
