Oakland, CA -- The Golden State Warriors waived veteran forward Popeye Jones on Friday.
The 34-year-old Jones only played in five games last season after missing the first two months while recovering from left knee surgery.
In 535 career contests with Dallas, Toronto, Boston, Denver, Washington and Golden State, Jones has averaged 7.0 points and 7.4 rebounds per outing.
Jones was selected by the Houston Rockets in the second round of the 1992 NBA Draft, but played in Italy during the 1992-93 season.
