Hahaha.. people over 30 are old! :p
My parents, both in their mid-late forties both heard it....
I guess they retained their hearing sensibility (avoiding the usual suspects: loud concerts, heavy music, and airports )
I can hear it and I'm old.
I've heard about that ringtone, no pun intended. And I can hear it, but I should since I'm only 28.
That's not it, it's far too easy to hear...It should be 17Khz, but it's possible that the compression used has changed it...
Try this one:

I can't hear that one.
I can hear those too.
I can hear them, too, and I'm older than all of you put together.
But then, I can often tell there's a TV in the house, even if it's on mute.
Heard them all. I can also hear mute TVs. Family heard it.
Pets didn't seem to mind any of them cranked up all the way, it's ear-piercing to me though.
I only heard the second one, with the volume cranked up, and even then just barely.
You know, a lot of people have told me they think I'm deaf. This just proves it.
I didn't hear it on teh NPR link, but I did hear it on those links that followed. My dog gave me the "what the ?" look.
Couldnt hear the forst 2 at all. The last 3 were easy though.
I CAN'T HEAR THEM !!!!! My daughter assures me that they are coming across just fine. I have some hearing loss. On the very first link I heard a really low tone but my daughter said there is also a really high pitched frequency that I can't hear. On the other links I don't hear a single friggin noise, even with the volume jacked all the way up. Getting older totally sucks.
I cant hear a cotton pickin thing either......what are those damn kids going to come up with next?
I wouldn't worry about it hun
Okay, I don't get it.
So the phone rings but only the kids can hear it.
I would think the adults would be clued in when the kid picks up the phone and starts talking into it.
no, it would be probly be used for text messaging.
Now if only someone can invent a sound or something that repells morons/idiots... that way Kori could loop it on Spurstalk.com and we could get rid of all the Mavericks fans and Norcal
I can hear the first one(which sounds like an annoying as ringing in my ears) but not the other two
Exactly! That way they can text each other back in forth during class and the teachers don't know it. Or when you're in the car yelling at your kid in the back seat they are actually texting back and forth with their friends instead getting an earful from you.
Just put the phone on silent/vibrate...
Sure that (vibrate) might be fun for me, but the teens are all about the risk. If there's not a chance to do something stupid and get caught, then why do it????
