It probably wasn't intended to be racist and I wish liberals would simmer down with the semantic policing.
Come on let's hear the " I don't see that as being racist that's a reach etc"
It probably wasn't intended to be racist and I wish liberals would simmer down with the semantic policing.
Maybe not directly intentional but I have a real hard time believing he uses that phrase against a white opponent
I don't. But I know nobody would be talking about it if he had.
+1
Although at this point, one has to wonder. the "we're not racist, but" thing got old a long time ago. How many Nazis get to run on your GOP tickets before we get to legitimately say "yeah, the Republican party is generally racist?"
Dunno.
Generalizations are rarely a winning strategy, and certainly not when accompanied by specious evidence like this quote.
This won't be the first and only time this Desanti guy will make a comment and not "intended" as such. Pretty much a guarantee.
Republicans cant help themselves when it comes to putting down minorities.
Then it shouldn't be too hard to wait for the real thing. The problem is, there's so much noise that actual racism gets diluted because the general public just assumes it's more manufactured outrage.
Ron mon cmon mon
cnn brought up the guy running was black last night and would be the first black gov
WHY BRING UP RACE CNN
Thinking of black people anytime you hear the word monkey used is pretty racist tbh
Yeah. Because white people generally using the word monkey as lingo with other white people referring to other white people. Or not.
Lol even Dictionary.com getting in on the action
In before LIBERAL BIAS AGAIN.
Cmon I'm sure DeSantis doesn't always think of black people when he hears the word monkey.
Possibly the other way around tho
Strong move imo. This will definitely shore up support for him among the GOP base. Not like all the old white people in FL would vote for a black guy anyway unless he calls all the blacks coons who are stuck on the "Democrat plantation" but still
lol "articulate"

Oh yeah! You flipped it on em! I’m here buddy...I am ing here!
No.
What does qualify is the Republican party doing everything it can to limit areas that are heavily African American from voting:
Georgia voting rights activists move to block a plan to close two-thirds of polling places in a majority black county

Or simple gerrymandering based nakedly on race:

overreaction imho. agree with spurm
Still, to lead with two or three dog whistle terms, however inadvertently, is pretty stupid.
Don’t care how unintentional it was, you gotta be smarter than that.
It was more deliberately racist when he complimented his opponent as “articulate”.
Lol that's a good point.
...or is it a brilliant 4-d chess move
