They have tried to compete some years and still sucked hard. I don’t know what they are up to this season... but they aren’t good obviously...

No way spurs collapse vs this pistons squad in complete tank mode
Has Derrick white ever hit two consecutive shots
Exactly... that’s what I think (but I’ve been wrong b4)...
they are going around gay like a traffic cone
Wow Okafor.. that’s A name I haven’t heard since...
It's refreshing to see White shoot the three without hesitation. He's only 1 for 6 so far, but he's also at +21 in 24 minutes.
I'm curious to learn what you think tanking looks like. For example, I don't think it's likely the players themselves throw games. Most of these guys are playing for a contract. Like tonight, you can see each and every Pistons player hustling hard. They're diving all over the place. They're playing tough defense. IMO, only the coach can put out a losing product. And in that respect, the Pistons could be doing that. I don't know if they could put a better line-up out there. Having said all that, if their players are "trying", how exactly does that invalidate the Spurs' performance?
No defense at this stage of his career but without his offense tonight the team would be losing.
Rudy out rebounded on the free throw miss just missed a layup get him out legs are gone

Casey will make sure the Pistons lose this one don't worry
Boris Diaw mentioned this on his podcast on The Ringer: https://www.spurstalk.com/forums/sho...5#post10488235
He talked a bit about his time in Charlotte, and how they were just losing games and didn't have any direction. As one of the veterans on the team, h e spoke up against it, and got buried on the bench then forced a buy-out.
Players want to win. These guys aren't actors...they go out there to try to win whether you are in 1st place or 30th. It's the same whether you are playing a game of Connect 4 or NBA basketball...losing sucks.
You can't just tell a bunch of people who have dedicated their lives to playing basketball at the highest level to go out there and lose on purpose. And if you do, you are breeding a terrible culture and reputation.
Yes, there are other ways to tank that come at the coaching level....but I don't think it sits well with compe ive players and honestly doesn't sit well with fans of the product, either.
That's why Pop can't just simply bench his veterans...DeMar, Gay, Patty. Sends a terrible message to the team and the rest of the league.
Spurs look like the team trying to tank tbh.
Keldon will have a lot to work on during the offseason
yup and Pop is trying his hardest to have them win That shows you how bad this roster is
walk away and lead goes away again....

I think coaches do throw games in subtle ways. Players do compete but coaches don’t place them in the best position to win in ways that look like bad coaching, can’t be blatant, specially at the end of games. Sometimes teams are just not talented enough or too young but in games that could go either way, a bad coaching job gives the edge to the tank...
Poeltl killin' it on the offensive boards
