yes. treadmill teams that aren't good enough to compete are well served eating a couple of years of horrid contracts in exchange for assets
It's still straight out awful. Spurs give up the best player by far, get back the worst contract, by far, and get rewarded with 11th pick and another the following season?

Oklahoma City has increased its efforts this afternoon to shed salary along with the No. 21 pick en route to dodging luxury tax, league sources say. Steven Adams, Andre Roberson, Dennis Schroeder all very available at the moment.

Would have interest in Adams or Robertson. I haven’t looked at there salaries tho
Anyone hear the Spurs are interested in Steven Adams? Edit. Never mind it's being discussed in another thread.
I would love for us to grab BOL BOL. Hopefully he's there when we pick!
latest rumors have him getting drafted by the pacers at 18.
so some site called hiptoro is writing this: (can't say it was a typo. it was also on the headline.)
Horoford to the Lakers
But the Lakers apparently, wish to use their free cap space to land a free agent. And they do have lofty goals- targets such as Kawhi Leonard, Kemba Walker, Kyrie Irving, and Jimmy Butler. If they fall through, they may turn to Horoford.
They all falling through because they all want max in which Lakers can't give.
Haha, what a sick take, basically just name all of the top FAs(Minus Klay/Kev) - Hiptoro is really going out on a limb with this prediction.
NOLA now has $31M in cap space
Minny trades 11 and saric to phx for 6
That's a bummer. We need a good big who can protect the rim, rebound and space the floor on the other end. Something tells me he's going to be a star.
Suns GM ought to be fired.
PG: Dejounte/ White/ Mills
SG: DeMar/ Forbes/ Lonnie/ Quinndary
SF: Gay/ Johnson/ Beli/ Moore
PF: Aldridge/ Samanic/ Bertans
C: Poetl/ Eubanks/ Metu
Something's got to give....way too many guards.
DJ ain't starting over White. Gtfo.
More like -
PG: White/ Mills
SG: Dejounte/ Forbes/ Lonnie
SF: DeRozan/ Gay/ Johnson/ Beli
PF: Aldridge/ Samanic/ Bertans
C: Poetl/ Metu / Aldridge
For those who wanted to know Jonathan Simmons value. He was traded to the wizards with a second round pick. Wizards gave up cash only.
Packaging Bertans & Beli for a combo forward before free agency would be ideal. Some targets off the top of my head:
Charlotte: Marvin Williams or MGK
Miami: James Johsnon
Contracts work and both teams could use additional shooting....
Then take the MLE and split it up to bring Milutinov over and the rest on a combo guard like CoJo......
Not a sexy offseason but that's about the most realistic ceiling I can see for the summer ......
Dejounte/Fatty/CoJo
DWhite/Forbes
Derozan/Lonnie/Keldon
Rudy Gay/Marvin Williams/Luka
LMA/Poetl/Milutinov
There's a gigantic hole on the roster for a wing defender with size, like it's obvious to even the most suck-tastic of the PATFO suckers. So I definitely expect the Spurs will completely not address that via trade or free agency this summer.
Has anyone seen any college free agent signing lists?
The Current State of the Roster

2-Way Contracts
Eubanks, Moore
URFA:
Gay - expected to be back at PF (backing up SF)
Pondexter - not expected back IMO
Cunningham - not expected back IMO
I'm guessing Weatherspoon has made a promise to take a 2-way contract, so there will be activity on that front (a team can only have two such contracts). My feeling is that they drop/move Eubanks (I think it was significant they brought in Motiejunas rather than upgrade him to a vet min for the playoffs last year).
I Expect some activity on the trade front: too many guards (small 2's in particular), with the intent of making 1 or more roster spots. Potential trade bait (to my mind) : Belinelli, Bertans, Forbes, Mills, Eubanks (only worth $150K in salary). Other assets that might be used as grease : Milutinov, future picks.
I expect us to bring in a true big (not a perimeter 4), and someone who can fake being a SF...
Some folks think Milutinov is that big, but I can see significant value in the vet min portion of the market (eg. Joakim Noah or Boban). PATFO might not see the value for the money to bring Milutinov over.
The SF is a big who knows, but as I've mentioned before, an outside the box candidate is Tomas Satoransky.
Great drop Drom John
I was gonna ask about this and I seen somebody did and hou dropped it. Yovel Zoosman didn't get picked up and neither has Louis King so far. I know Zoosman will most likely get work in Europe but King might be worth grabbing
On the Free Agent front I've been reading this morning that the Nets may not want Kyrie if Durant doesn't come too. I've also read that ainge may use his cap space to acquire assets.
I'm not sure where kyrie ends up if he cant go to the nets but we were on his short list when he wanted out of Cleveland. I wonder if ainge would be interested in DDR plus white or DJ for Kyrie on a S&T?
