I don't get this at all.... Jefferson was a defensive liability in his prime and is now past his prime, plus the NBA is changing to a style where slow lumbering Cs are not especially helpful.
In today's NBA, 10mil/yr is what a bench guy gets...
10 million per year for a 12 and 6, 50% big.
And the Lakers paid Mozgoof 50% more

now that's good value. not sure about the fit though
A ty washed up player who can get through only half a season isn't a good value at $10M a year just because Mozgov got $16M a year.
Big Al's metrics were far better than Mozgov's last season, and I doubt Moz gets through a full season with that knee. In fact, Moz has only played 157 games over the past 3 seasons. Big Al has played 175 games over the past 3 seasons.
Al isn't a homerun by any means, but the Lakers could've had him for 10 per on one less year and got similar or better production. It just makes the Lakers kneejerk signing look all the more worse.
Apparently talks with Mahinmi stalled and he was asking for too much, so Indiana gave up on him and went to plan B... I think this move is more about not being stuck without a C to start the season than it is about pursuing someone who's going to generally improve the team.
Big Al will be as effective in Indy as Hibbert was after PG slept with his wife.
Imagine just 3 or 4 years ago, Mahinmi telling any team that 10mil/year wouldn't be enough! The NBA is changing, and changing fast!
Aldridge's contract is looking better and better every day.
Cant lie at that price we would have been better off ...
True.
Aldridge is a STEAL.
Worth 24m per easy...
He isn't better than Boban at this point of his career but I guess Boban would fetch 10 mill.
He is a bench big and he will play the Kanter role, who has the same defensive liabilities. It's a good deal.
Except that he's only a little bit older, slightly less injury-prone and way ing better.
