Playmaking? He's making shots but idk about playmaking. He's playable when he's making shots though. The only danger when he plays well is that Pop will close with him like he did against Trae Young over his two studs at PG.

They're not criminals or anything, which is what I usually reserve this type of feeling for, but man do I full-on hate LaMarcus and DeMar Derozan.

LaMarcus is built like a tree and hates the post. DeMar can absolutely get to the paint whenever he wants and is strong enough to finish with an And-1 a good percentage of the time but prefers to shoot any jumpshot except a 3.

LMA has been really bad defensively this year tbh.
What I hate is DeRozan chucking a 15 foot jumper three or four seconds too soon with the half winding down, allowing Memphis to get a decent look at a 3 and make it. This guy just oozes mistakes on a regular basis. Pathetic.
This team used to pay attention to detail and minimize fouls and turnovers, staying in front of your man on D. They don't do any of that now. Pop is providing little direction on a rudderless ship.
The thing about Beli is that he is so poor on D that he doesn't even foul and we have no hope of foul trouble holding him out.
He has that whole "tapping the shooters fingertips when the ball is already going through the hoop" defense down to a tee, tbh.

If Demar was more decisive (like take a dribble or two and either attack the cup or pull up for that foul line jumper), he'd be a much better player. Instead it's dribble city, pump fake then contested 20 footer or a turnover.

I mean he's not old. For a lot of players it just takes time. We'll see if he keeps it up but I"m really enjoying his play so far. He gets more comfortable every game.

The Grizzlies in 3rd quarters are -8. 30th in the league.
